I have bought 3300 from Onkyo store Hyderabad @ 25K
Installed the same yesterday night. I will never regret for this system.

It's simply wonderful and it's a PRO machine not a entry level HTib

I have no words to praise this Onkyo Baby. Value for Money and future proof.

Guys go for it ....

It performs wonderful at low volume level. Just set the "Audyssey Dynamic Vol" to Light or Medium or Heavy as per your requirement.

What is the key difference between 3200 and 3300?
Have you wall mounted your speakers?

1. It is also HDMI 1.4a(supporting 3D video and Audio Return Channel)

2. The 3200 does not decode HD audio from Blu ray. The 3300 does.

3. If your Blu-Ray player has the ability to decode Dolby TrueHD or DTS-MA HD you will be able to take advantage of those codecs to get a more high definition listening experience

4. Has a HDMI repeater and do the switching, so you only need HDMI cables without extra audio cables. 3200 cannot receive video and audio both over HDMI

5. On screen display is great to see the menus, volume level and setup options overlayed on the tv screen. In 3200 this feature is absent.

6. With the 3300 you can hold onto it for a longer time

Correction : Blu Ray player need not decode the DTS-MA or Dolby-TruHD. All it needs to do is to "bitstream" it to the HT-3300. HT-3300 can decode DTS-MA and Dobly-TruHD where as HT-3200 can only support, Dolby and DTS ( Which are the formats found on DVD).

Thanks guys... the 3300 seems like a worthy replacement for the 3200 for that price point.

Just a side conversation: My bi-amped Denon+ Polk has neither HDMI not HD Audio decoding capability and has been doing duty over the past 5 years. However, I've recently invested in room acoustics treatment as part of my apartment renovation and found more improvement than what might have been possible with an equipment upgrade.
From this personal experience, I can tell you - please invest time in speaker placement, AV receiver configuration etc and pay attention to room acoustics and you will reap handsome benefits!

hi guys,

I need your help in buying a HTS. don't understand much about these?
I am confused between onkyo - hts 3300 , yamaha - HTIB YHT-392(price -29K)
and dennon (-ve point :service center). can u guys please suggest me one.
budget (30-33K)

Also the HTS frm sony, Philips, samsung are cheaper and have more rms power- 1000 watts.. so wt is the disadvantage they have over onkyo, yahama in terms of sound quality ?

please help me out. Thanks in advance !

Ashwin there are many threads out here that tell you what to look for in an HT. Given your budget, I will list out some here:
1. Quality of components: Pure RMS (or PMPO) does not mean a lot.
2. Configurability: Each room is different. So are listeners like you and me. The more parameters the HT offers (Delay, cross over, levels, image width etc) the more your ability to calibrate the system to your needs.
3. Flexibility: Again, flexibility say in placement, upgrades etc are important - You dont by HTs every other year!

With these considerations IMO, the Onkyos, Denons (+Polk), Yamaha etc are serious contenders for your choice. The Sonys, LGs and Samsungs are NOT. They are not serious HT contenders.

Also, once the HT setup grows on you, you will want to start tweaking some of the settings and that's where the Sony/LG/Samsung "auto mode" for everything will start irritating you...

ontherocks it is indeed audio gallery...... and seklax i dont think comparing the prices abroad is appropriate as customs and taxes and shipping charges also come into play...........alternatively if you try to purchase from say amazon and get it shipped here it might be a lilttle cheaper than 25k i suppose.......but all said and done we are getting 3300 for 25k which was the same price for 3200 till 2 weeks back in bangalore so i think it is definately worth it...!!

did anybody buy from audiogallery, the price is very good

how much it does cost you for the cabling?

how much it does cost you for the cabling?

In my knowledge there is no additional cost for cabling as all the cabling will come with the box!!! However if you want to go for additional cables for wires for speakers etc and say hdmi cable it will cost extra!!
