onkyo hts 3300

I am using Tata Sky HD+ with 3300 and I get DD sound when I am viewing HD channels.
There is a significant difference between the sound of SD channels and HD channels; since SD is stereo and HD is true 5.1 /7.1 audio.

My connections are as follows:
TSHD+ <----HDMI----> 3300
Sony BluRay Player <-----HDMI----> 3300
3300 (HDMI Out) <----------HDMI------> (HDMI In) Sony Bravia

When I installed the system 2 weeks back; I thought I would need a coax for sound but I tried with single HDMI cable and it worked.

Just got my Onkyo HTS3300 for 19990 flat @ Reliance Digital Banjara Hills Branch @ Hyderabad. Got extended warranty for another 1100 Rs. Haven't hooked it up yet. They have some offer going just for today.:yahoo:

There must be a volume level option in your AVR. Must be in settings.. Set the volume levels for diff channels as per your need..

i have a hts 3300 which I have connected with HDMI to my TV and HDMI in comes from POHD. I used to get DD when I played my br rips earlier. Presumably my son messed up the settings while playing with the remote and I no more get the DD red signal while playing the same files. So the source is not the issue as the same files used to give DD output.
I have the stock speakers as well as speakers from my old music system connected as B speakers.
What settings do I need so that I get DD output?
