Hi
I have the 3300 for abt 3 months, but the sound is not sharp (treble/Bass +10db) FM sounds OK but DVD/Turntable just flat sound, are my inputs not up to the mark? or do I need to do some settings, I find the manual very complicated, any suggestions?
Then turn off Audyssey. Its ON by default.To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down VCR/DVR, press ON/ STANDBY. Clear will appear on the display and the AV receiver will enter Standby mode.
On remote press RECEIVER followed by SETUP.
Scroll to "Audio Adjust" and select it.
Then scroll to "Audyssey". Set it to OFF.
It must be under the "Audio" settings on TV. Something which says like "Digital output"I am struggling with getting proper digital output from my Samsung LED TV which has got built in media player. I play DD and DTS encoded mkv's and avi's through it. It's manual says it supports all of the popular formats of video and audio (including AAC and DTS). I use optical out from the TV for digital audio but still not getting the proper surround sound. Could someone please throw some light how to fix this.
TV Model: Samsung LED TV - UA37C5000QM
HTS: Onkyo HT-S3400
Thanks in advance...
I bought a HP G62 361 TX laptop with HDMI port few days back and tried to connect it with 3300 via HDMI cable, now the problem is that i am not getting 5.1 sound from it,playing files in VLC player and the audio output is set to 5.1,
what should i do?
Change some settings, like turning OFF Audyssey, changing the bass/treble. Then try resetting. Do bass/treble go back to zero, is Audyssey turned ON ?i am not able to reset my onkyo 3300 to factory defaults by pressing and holding VCR/DVR button and than pressing the on/Stand by, nothing happens.

Hmmm...I think you are doing something wrong.Audyssey is off,
I don't understand your rationale for such connections.TS HD to 3300 via coax for audio(CBL/SAT)
TS HD to pana TV via HDMI(HDMI 1 Tv input)
3300 to TV vias HDMI(HDMI 2 Tv input)

I would have done the following:
TS HD(HDMI OUT) --HDMI--> (HDMI IN)HT-S3300
HT-S3300(HDMI OUT) --HDMI--> (HDMI IN)TV
There must be some HDMI control setting in the TV too which is set to ON. Turn that OFF too.now whenever i switch from CBL/SAT to BD/DVD i also have to select HDMI 2 in TV this is fine but when i switch back to CBL/SAT and select HDMI 2 , what i get is blue screen and in AVR BD/DVD is automatically selected again. and i have to against select CBL/SAT form AVR to see TS,
There must be some HDMI control setting in the TV too which is set to ON. Turn that OFF too.
You could also try this, although doesn't make sense in your problem, never hurts though:
Deselect all other HDMI input, except for WD Player in the HDMI settings of the AVR. Set (---) in all the other HDMI selections except BD/DVD.
I am using Tata Sky HD+ with 3300 and I get DD sound when I am viewing HD channels.
There is a significant difference between the sound of SD channels and HD channels; since SD is stereo and HD is true 5.1 /7.1 audio.
My connections are as follows:
TSHD+ <----HDMI----> 3300
Sony BluRay Player <-----HDMI----> 3300
3300 (HDMI Out) <----------HDMI------> (HDMI In) Sony Bravia
When I installed the system 2 weeks back; I thought I would need a coax for sound but I tried with single HDMI cable and it worked.
Thats good for you, but until know it was not possible to get DD sound thru HDMI from Tata Sky HD or HD+.
have you done some specific settings or upgraded your software of Tata Sky to get DD sound.
