onkyo hts 3300

Answer to the third question - Yes..place a mat beneath the sub. It helps stop the sub from dancing and you dont get the jarring effect. Turn ex bass off. Did u get a demo from Onkyo ? In my case after they set up the audio settings on the amp..the sound was much more acceptable...

I did get a demo from Onkyo, but like I said I started playing around with some settings and the sub started dancing. Also, I felt the demo guy was not any expert since he couldn't answer many of my queries. The user manual came to help in those situations, however. May be, my bad luck with the representative.

What kind of mat would you recommend? Where do I get the grippy ones? The user manual prescribes to stick the stickers they have provided but the clamp on which the sub sits is sharp.

Ok, I decided to keep the wires for the surround due to aspects of sound quality and cost. The problem I am facing though is the wire cable for one of the speakers is short to the extent of one and a half feet. Its the rear left speaker which comes with blue coloured cable. What is the exact specification of this cable, and can I get it through Onkyo? I am worried about mismatch of one cable with all others. Otherwise, where can I procure it from outside in Bangalore and whether it is worthwhile to change all the speaker cables to a higher quality one?

i m using tata sky +hd with onkyo 3300, for most of the channel pro logic II or neo doesnt work proper, means no sound from surround. only from centre. did anybody notice with their sets?

^ yeh connected through optical cable from the start to avr not even tried connecting hdmi to onkyo, btw dolby prologic is virtual 5.1 mode done taking mono or stereo mode sound :) i get that to work on some channel but strange not for every channel.

Hi !!

I just bought wall mount for 3300. The mounts are 4 way tiltable are made of plastic and is mentioned to have load bearing capacity of 5 Kg. It cost me Rs700 for 4pcs. Since speakers are non threaded, its tricky, u have to use nut and bolt and it will be 4 way tilting.

That's very strange. Does it always show Pro Logic II in the receiver, even on the channels that have no surround? Is it a random event or there are specific channels with which this happens? If so mention the channels.

How to turn off Audyssey when playing Audio in 'Speakers A' mode?
Manual only explains Audyssey settings without detailing how it can be turned on or off.

hi, after lot of deliberation i finally bought the onkyo 3300 from the snob shop in gurgaon. Now the best price i was getting was 24k for the set and he also offered me a package of 2k which included an hdmi cable, optical cable and complete installation with a 18 gauge speaker wire(quality looked pretty good) for all the speakers and sub as the stock wires are useless and pretty thin. So according to me the additional 2k was definitely worth it.
Now, he also offered me the demo piece for 21k and it was a month old according to the owner and the speakers did not even complete their break in time. So, after a bit of thought and i saved 3k and went in for the demo piece. I checked the components thoroughly and they were almost brand new with no dust or scratches as they were installed in the demo room.
Though i was a bit skeptical to buy a demo piece but took the owners word for it. Though he was not pushing me to buy the demo piece and told me if i have doubts then i should go in for the brand new piece.
So finally paid 23k for everything for an almost brand new system with complete installation and wires.
