onkyo hts 3300

Has anyone wall mounted these with angled brackets. Is it possible first of all? I see only key hole in the back of the speaker.

Yes the HT3300 can decode DTS, DD, DTS-MA, DD-THD. You have to select the setting in your player to let it push out raw stream to the 3300 instead of decoding in the player...

Hello Friends,
I am getting the onkyo hts 3300 tomorrow. Attached images of my room with dimensions 15 x 12

On the last pic where you see the ac remote and the switches? the blank wall to the right is where i want to have my immersive experience...

Im looking for the speaker orientation that would be optimal for getting most value for the hts 3300

the connectivity strategy follows:

PS3 out -> AV reciever(HDMI)
HD STB out -> av reciever(HDMI)
av recievr out to TV
av receiver to speakers

a. where should i place the sub?
b. dont want any gadgets on the table under the tv
c. table with ps3 has 3 levels

So component placement could be

top shelf where the ps3 is goes the centre speaker
middle shelf has av receiver
bottom has hd stb and ps3

now i would really like your help on where to put the 4 speakers?
How do you connect the surround speakers? 2 wires running through the length of the room? please no ! help!!!!

@rahul i dint find any other store. 25 k is i guess as good a price anywhere. But do audition the 3300.. i love the possibilities of the receiver they give with the onkyo, but the sound is seriously below par at least in the audition room.is it intentional by promises? i dunno. no free goodies with this . hdmi costs 1300 at promises they gotta be kddin!!!!!
sub par sound notwithstanding i would have bought it last sat. but they said they didnt have any stock ... so now im in 2 minds to buy or not to buy.....

@Prince: HDMI cable is worth 250 bucks. Anyways, I'll decide after an audition.
I'm also thinking of Yamaha RX-465, and possible speakers along with it. Yamaha is available at Harmony House, Park Street for 22ks. I'm just looking for some sort of break through regarding the speakers...

i bought hts3300 last week from promises kolkata at about 25k....i have wall mounted the rear speakers, but i need speaker stands to mount the front left and right speakers......so can anyone recommend or advise me on stands that ll fit the hts3300 front speakers :D

Any idea where is it available in Mumbai? I enquired in Croma and they're still stuck on 3100 !

There is nothing to install ..except connecting coloured speaker wires and RC cables. When you have decided to go for an A/V Receiver instead of HiFi system or normal HTs then you are already a semi-expert. You should be able to install it with ease. Also, Onkyo comes with a Page of Installation images.
Check the rate, Last week I saw in Croma, Chennai..the price was abt 21,500/-

Thanks

i got onkyo 3300 installed yesterday combined with sony bdp 370. Sounds are boomy.. Have to reduce sub in minus db.. Room size is 15 *12. Can any one suggest me to calibrate to get a tight bass? Thankyou

Hi All,

Which is a better option:

Onkyo TX SR307(A/V R) + SKS HT 528 (5.1 Speakers) - Rs.23000 (Hyper City Bangalore)

Onkyo 3300 - About Rs. 25,000

Or should I go for something else in that price range?

Usage: 50% Movies and 50% Music

Cheers!

Disable Audyssey, dynamic EQ and dynamic Vol. If you still find it be boomy, then subwoofer placement may not be appropriate. go thru the below link for speaker placement or use SPL meter to calibrate.
