You could ask him the length of wires that come along with the system, then make an estimate yourself.

jus found out that the 3300 is avlbl in dubai for 999dhs....this is with a passive sub woofer...
and dhs 1700 with an active sub woofer...
. I'm not actually quite sure of the difference between active and passive subs, other than active are powered on their own and passive powered by the amp..
this will only help in increasing the output to the speakers....
my question is how much does it matter????
is it worth spending 700dhs extra for that...

I spoke to him,looks like he overestimated, i am getting it for 22.5k, will get it tomorrow,will see about the installation cost after that.Thanks for the suggestions, especially sunny sharma

don't even mention it pal...what else is this lovely forum for.....and i think the 8 m wire for the surrounds should be sufficient enough... do give us your thought after you set it up and have given a good listen to it!!... Hopefully i will order mine in about 3 days... cheers

I got it last week from audio gallery last week, the cable that came along look very thin and since i wanted to get it routed nicely along the walls i had to use extra cable. The guy who came for installation was a nice fellow,did a very good job of cabling and installation and concealed it with channels.I usually dont have good experience with dealers of electronic items,but this was different.The person i was interacting with (one mr Dinesh of audio gallery) was very good and everything went smooth
The speakers look nice, alot of options to play with in the AVR,quite powerful.Very good bass..Good sound clarity.My room is 15x10 and this is more than enough
I tried the dolby dts ths demodvd and it sounded very nice, although i wont say wow.Perhaps it is due to the room conditions.
Due to a french window and door the front l-r speakers are mounted above 6ft.I have not got time to wath a good dts movie, i need to get a good dvd of jet li starrer "hero".There is some good sound effects in that one
My setup is samsung 50c550 plasma(68900),sony bdp-s370-(9700),and newest addition onkyo hts 3300(22500)
I got the 3300 last week and its great till now. Was seeing how to activate the HD audio since i was not seeing the icon on the receiver but later found out that since my ps3 decodes it and send the feed as a PCM, the receiver doe not need to decode it and hence the icon does not display.
Hope to spend some quality time on it soon

Why dont u contact Audio gallery from coimbatore and ask if they deliver it for ur friend as well to mumbai??? Btw im sure there are places in mumbai u can audition the system like Vijay sales or croma or call justdial for onkyo showroom.

@ Nelkiru Hi can you tell me where in blore you picked it up ,cause ive been seraching from last week and lot of shops do not have the stock ,tried at Reliance ,onkyo sigma mall ,spar ,ezone again at sigma and croma at eva .BTW what was the price.

If I connect a WD TV Live with Onkyo 3300 through HDMI, will Onkyo decode the 5.1 stream from MKVs, FLACs etc???

3300 can decode 5.1 stuff,but flac will be decoded/played by WD & passed to AVR.So no problem.

I found the 3300 at Promises, in Kolkata. He was asking for 29ks (without bargaining). I thought it was way too much. Can anyone from Kolkata tell me a better price? I know its available for around 24ks elsewhere in Bangalore etc.

currently absolutely no stock in bangalore or coimabtore( audio gallery) for onkyo hts 3300........stock arrives apparently in the 1st week of august... damn have to wait till then.
Would it decode DTS through HDMI out of WDTV?

Actually, I'm leaving for Pune next week for 10 days for a vacation. I was going to comeback and then buy.
But if you ask him how much he is willing to waive off, I can arrange something, if it's really worth it.
What I mean is I'm willing to take the plunge if he waives off a substantial amount...
