How did u ordered this in less than 6K. Are u using any shipping forwarders like BL or ishop etc..
Hi,
Finally my BDT220 arrived over the weekend ! Delivery by DHL was really fast. I am just providing the journey that the BDT followed from Ohio to Mumbai- what is impressive is the journey once it left London....
I am not planning to mod it/ hack it. In fact I am quite happy with the original firmware. The most fun part is burining FLAC files on CDs and listening without switching on the TV/ PJ. It also doubles up as a great ACD/MP3 player and a fantastic media player !!

About 12k since I ordered express. Without express it would have been around 11k.
The NTSC thing is no problem at all. Also thanks to Baiju and jsmithe it runs very well with a voltage converter from Maxconn (0-50 watts) which cost about 300 bucks.
Since I dont play blu rays/ DVDs, I dont need to make it region free.

This is very tempting. I myself wanted this player from the day I saw "just4kix" signature.
Tried every shop in Bangalore and even contacted the distributor but no stocks. They are even doubtful when the stock would be available.
Now, importing from the US looks feasible also (cheaper than India).
I just created an account in BL and checked the cost calculator, it says INR 9253 including everything with express delivery. I selected the "Electronics - Domestic" in type of product and 5 lbs in weight.
You have mentioned as 12k for express, could you clear the extra cost involved.

You have put 3.3 lbs as weight, but the actual shipment weight is 5lbs and if you put that you will get INR 9250 with express shipment.
But how 12k? Even I am waiting for the break-up.

They charge tax for New York delivery and its about 700 more than BL.

I had also got similar cost estimates from Borderlinx. However they have a calculation for volumetric weight or actual weight whichever is higher. So my volumetric weight came to some 5.9 kgs ! I even raised a ticket with them and they came back with calculations: its something like this: LXWXH/ 300. I cant recollect the exact formula but that is what they use. Also I had asked them to recheck since I thought that the weight of 5.9 must be in lbs. But it seems its kgs.
As far as shipping goes they gave me a choice between $95 and $112 and I chose the latter.
As far as HDMI cable goes I bought a Prolink Ultra cable (high speed with ethernet) for INR 749 from Croma. Its 2 meters in length and so far there are no HDCP issues between the Pana and my Epson pj.
In terms of picture quality I feel that the Pana is a notch above the PS3 and my ASUS. The picture seems "real". With the PS3 / Asus (which I was perfectly happy with), I had to adjust the PJ settings for RGB but somehow this seems better and sharper.
The same movies seen through the Pana have better colors, sharpness, black levels and very pleasing to the eyes. The 3D for the same movies also seems to have silightly more depth without any adjustments. It could also be becoz of better color saturation. Yes and skin tones are just too good.The overall picture quality now betters my Sony Bravia LCD which I had chosen for its immaculate colors & contrast. No adjustments whatsoever required.
In fact like I mentioned earlier I am just using it out of the box- no official/ unofficial firmware upgrade.
Those who dont want to wait for the India availability can buy it (will roughly cost the same)> The only additional cost is the voltage converter (INR 300).

Probably because it works out cheaper from Amazon.com via Borderlinx or Aramex SnS. Also there is delivery guarantee. Naaptol may be good but it is just an eBazaar place - they may not have updated the stock availability. Flipkart and Infibeam are saying "out of stock".
I guess ordering from Naaptol would be a nightmare after reading so many negative reviews about online purchase from this company.
I read so many from mouthshut.com and various others from searching into google. There are a few positive as well but, the negatives are more than 90% so, I think it is better to be off Naaptol.
