Panasonic plasma V20 series group buy

thats better than this deal as it is 80000 plus 4.5 % octroi for thane residents which adds to 83500

another Mumbai dealer quoted me 80K but same issue, i have to pay octroi.. lets see as it is i am now confused between two plasms so decision making has just gone slow..

@All: I checked with Crom, South Ex. today, they have 5-6 sealed pieces available for 58,500/- with one year warranty.

They were ready to offer me 2 years additional warranty for 3000 and a 25% discount on 3K.

Do you mean Panna 50V20 is available at that price or was it Panna42V20?

No, I am not in a hurry. I can wait for 1-2 months. Would like to finalise by July end. Would love to see prices drop. :licklips:

In no hurry either, can wait till stocks last. Expecting price drop, U30's and next Gen Panna PDPs must be on their way to the stores, next month.

Yeah, Last time when I went there, they had very nice collection on the wall.

Hopefully, that is the case. Did you check with the Pana Brand shop in Lajpat Nagar?

Yes, called them 2 weeks ago, declared out of stock and seemed least interested in restocking. Most of these PB Shops have unfriendly salesmen answering calls, except a few.

I m skeptical about this "Additional warranty" they speak of. Will have to find out what they mean. Reliance tried to talk me into buying the V20 back in May, quoting 65,950 with 1 year and 69,950 with (1+2 = 3 years warranty). I have a feeling its a trick, almost all V20's heard sold, had a standard 3 years warranty from Panasonic. Don't know what these salesmen are up to breaking 3=1+2 and offering it as a "great offer" package.

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for sharing info regarding various stores: Yesterday in late evening i went to Croma Raja Garden, they have only one display piece of V20 left @ RS 59990/-. They didnt have U30, but X30 was on display and looked dismal in front of V20.
I checked the PQ of V20 with Samsung 43" plasma and other leading brand LED and LCD costing more than 60K,but the PQ is best in V20 as comapared to Sony, LG, VU, Croma, Samsung and Toshiba.:clapping:
Than visit the Panny Bshop Raja Garden around 8.45, but sales men seemed least interested in attending me, so i decide to intentnally spend more time in shop and observed following points:
1.) As per salesman V20 (42") is closed and no piece is available.
2.) X20 was on display with a price tag of Rs 33000/-
3.) X30 was also on display with a price tag of around 37500/-.
4.) I checked White and brightness level of X20 with X30 and X30 has better white/Black and brightness.
5.) But compared it with (side by side) GT 42" series and difference b/w HD and FHD is huge. Like deapth of colurs, edges of pictures and text, smoothness in fast moving objects.

As per Salesman U30 will be available only in July and no price details yet.
Iam also not in a hurry so will wait for U30 to come.
Does anybdy has seen the U30 42" in Delhi and the tentative price for that?
Pls help

h_bharti, all salesmen speak about the V20's like they are dead and gone. Standard "get/got rid of stocks" punchline. X20 and X30 prices are correct. The X30 black levels looked dismal compared side by side with a Samsung LED, contrast levels could have been better, picture seemed washed out thanks to the bright sunlight at the store. Blacks on the Sammy were better.

Yes, thats quite a difference between the HD and FHD models. No idea on the U30 yet. Waiting and watching too. If you are interested in the V20, we have found about 10 in stock, sealed brand new pieces (as informed by the dealers).

so what is the current status of group buy on 42 and 50" ?

Best price quoted this far is 58,000 in cash with std 3 Yrs warranty from 2 shops (Dealer, Croma [Rohini]) with approx. 5 + 5 = 10 Sealed pieces in stock as informed. Waiting for a better offer/prices to fall while stocks last.

Chennai, it is 87400. Still few pieces are available. Dont think it will come below80,000 in the near future. Will wait for 10 more days.....V50.

Greetings Poornima, welcome to the forum. Don't lose hope on the V50, prices WILL fall "always" as time goes by. If you are not in a hurry, you are advised to wait and watch. You may know this, the V50 was launched with an initial price tag Rs 1,05,000 last year (2010). A 20,500 price reduction in June. Always check with 3-5 stores for the going price of any HDTV. Nothing holds you back from "shopping" at more than 5 shops/dealers. The V50s or 50" in particular have not been sold in great numbers yet, mostly because of their price and supposedly larger wall area required. 42" HDTVs were/are more affordable, easy to spot on the walls/table tops of most Indian households + power savings in the long run with same Picture Quality only a few inches smaller.

Most upgrade from CRT to HDTV or one type of HDTV to another. 42" has become the standard choice for a first time HDTV buyer. The larger you go in size, closer you get to your dream Home Theater experience at the expense of increased power consumption, a pixelated picture quality on watching Standard definition content (best watched BlueRay content) and weight increase. Given the choice, people will always desire larger and larger till they find their ideal size with the most suitable viewing distance for the most entertaining experience at home.

Feel free to share your experiences with all of us at HFV. Happy Shopping.

just wanted to share that to my surprise when everyone was talking about depleted stocks of 42v20 and most of the people saying that its discontinued... i figured out today at vijay sales having a brand new 42 incher with them...i always saw 50 incher at their store but never 42 across all stores in Mumbai at least i visited 5 of them... and the pricing is 70500...isn't that insane when we are talking about prices being taken to southwards of 58 k and below...and how come they start selling it now when they never had it during its peak selling time for almost last one year..

^^ In Bangalore check in Griha Vaibhav VV puram. I bought 42v20d in March 2011 for 59.5K.

not sure if the 3 month warranty is available now as I believe it was only for purchases upto March 31

ok guys! I am finally the proud owner of Panasonic 42v20. But guess what? I had a fantastic deal. I thought I must share it with you. I got it for INR 52994/- :licklips:

Croma, Rohini is selling each piece for 59994/- with free 22" Sansui LCD or 7k cash back. :licklips: I preferred the cash back. Luckily the offer was from today. ONLY 4 PIECES LEFT. All guys finishing up the stock must own up here. :D

Other guys dont be mayoos. Similar offer on 42x30 so its for 43994-7000=36994. Few more offers on LCDs and LEDs and really mouth watering one.

All the best guys. This may be your last chance for a 42v20 deal. :)

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
