Also, I was shocked to see the way my engineer handled the Plasma.

He unmounted the plasma and turned it around 360 degree. I mean plasma must be kept straight, he rotated it with side port facing the floor

I asked him wont it impact the plasma, his answer was a small rotation does not impact.

In fact remember few days back when you were trying to register your product - I too had a look at the back of my Plasma to find the unique # and I notice dents on couple of places - again I dont think these dents happened during installation because such dents will not happens on a light touch. I think those dents happened at the Thailand factory before the back of the plasma was screwed into the unit - I was a bit surprised noticing it - but since its not causing me any problem, not sure if I should do anything about - nothing major - just a 1-2mm dent

I have checked with the break in slides which nishab gave me yesterday and verified that there is no dead pixel as of now.. its more than 100 hours now and the tv is working like a charm..:yahoo: watched MI4 BRip yesterday and the picture quality is amazhing i must say... i have increased the contrast to 50 now .. BTW, it seems the tv doesnt support subtitles on mp4 playback. Tried with many mp4 files and the subtitle option is missing..

I saw the pricelist in Croma yesterday and saw that the last pieces of 50VT20 have been sold for 60k!!

I was like FUUUU...

Missed to add..Even my side bars are bright n comparison to images on-screen at brightness of -50...Minus 50...

Others have reported it to be pure blackk..Y me...

Do you mean 4:3 sidebars? They are set bright to avoid ir. A menu option can turn them black but that is not advisable.

They are light gray on my tv too.

relax - search this forum and am sure vt20 owners too are whining on some point or the other. Other than total hardware break down which makes the tv unusable I think we will always be trying to find faults here and there.

Mr. Kix pointed out that may be XT series has some inherent faults and on the same day mr Arun Kumar pointed out that ST owners too are reporting faults:yahoo:

So like I said earlier - unlike your tv has some real issues that makes it unwatchable you should be ok buddy. If the video you play on the tv looks good - why worry about other things - my two cents

my TV too has trouble with subtitles. I guess its not only the TVs fault as I play 3d from my blu ray player and also my laptop. sometimes i see two sub titles, sometimes I see really huge sub titles - mind you - some of the rips didnt come with subtitles and i downloaded the srt separately - not sure if 3d movies have separate srt files..whats your take?

VT20 is not god.. It has the 50Hz bug which is a major annoyance and 4D is dim..
But 60k for a top end 50" with very effective filter is a great offer.. IMO, TVs without problems in PQ stopped with the CRTs..

That is true. Performance and specs/quality of st50 exceeds vt20.

Dealer sold the product stating that HT offer is valid for 2 days only. This is where I should have been clever enough not to trust him.

HT was not a reason to buy, however, free he to badiya hein kinds...Product anyways was on my to buy list...

Lets see how things move....

Just got the 42xt50 :yahoo: from the panasonic showroom @48k with 1 3d glasses and free ht. zeroed on it after seeing the LG 520 @ 35.5K and Sammy e490 @ 43000. It pretty good. Still would have loved it more below 40k minus the ht deal than me doing the dirty work. Having heard and seen the HT would be able to dispose that off @ 8K to 9K. Got a altec 2.1 for company n get a proper HT later.

Did they [ Dealer ] call you ?
I called them thrice to the shop and still no update.
Then I called the panasonic Cust care and they are not even aware of the offer it seems ... my purchase was on 28th July from Rajesh TC pune.

I called them (RTC) and they said it has arrived. Panasonic cc is utterly useless. They do not half the things.

I guess you bought in last week of July as well...My dealer is unique anyways...no sure if he would deliver in 2012 or not...lol

I purchased the tv on 22 July. I haven't opened the HTiB. I am planning to sell it for around 9 to 10k. Some blokes at office have expressed an interest.
