Pansonic XT50 owners thread

I thought abt ST30 series as it would cover me for reflection issue ..Reflection gonna be with UT50 as well is there, not that much however, its there...

..

If you felt reflections in XT50, then you would need models with extra black filters and all (ST+ etc), UT50 might not be much different either - guess your room has windows/direct sunlights/ room lights falling on Display.

Re: possible replacement fo XT50

Knew couple of guys in sales thanks to MBA connects including Panasonic HDTV head ...also I used facebook plus updated plus used relevant sections of consumer protection act in my emails....

What's ur take xt or st30....I somehow liked xt50 over st30 at least on two grounds one being 3d quality and PQ.....only issue with Xt50 is room light which is opposite my tv.....

I aint no expert on recommending TVs. For me glare is not an issue since any serious tv watching will let you focus on the content than the screen.. Plus you can always put the curtains down or turn off the light.

For me the sub titles sometimes seem to flicker. That and the water color like thing on peoples' contours in few videos are the real watchable nuisance I am currently undergoing. Other than that I am fine with the XT series. I have not seen ST series so cannot complain. In most showrooms I have been to - its always some 15-20 LEDs vs 1-2 Plasma and Plasmas always look dull. In fact at Garuda Mall Samsung showroom yesterday - he had 10-15 LEDs on display and the lone Plasma was not even turned on!!!

Re: dearer has asked me to come and pick ht

dearLer has asked me to come and pick ht...while buying he had promised to get it delivered...

I hate who misspell....I guess he is irate as I reported his deeds to some senior guys in panasonic which includes suggesting that HT offer is only for 1 or2 days way back in July....

he aint ready to deliver ..i dnt mind paying for charges

hell man.........incidentally I am visiting same place on Sunday..however lesson for others, avoid this dealer....

whats the name of the dealer. This is unprofessional & unethical:annoyed:

I wont go and pick it.Never!!! They had sold it as a package, how can they say NO TO DELIVERY...

Register a complain with Panasonic as well. I would recommend to add on FB as well.

Its about being presssing for your rights! He aint doing any favour to you!

However, this only after other users got HT delivered at home. Just confirm for kix, Arn & rajat etc before you proceed

Re: HT delivery.

Thanks Buddy!! However, in my case it is getting delievered after a month..

What irritates me is the fact that he has just opened a new showroom just 100 M from my home. If he wants he can send it from warehouse of that Showroom.

I am looking for cases where it got delivered after one month...I guess kix had got his after a month, so sent him a PM ( May be many thanks to stupid Ipad)

Congrats for your UT50 :-).....How is HT output & did they install the HT as well..Also did you get a warranty card for HT

I am enjoying the HT and its output is more more than enough for our house, infact its going to be good enough for parties we are gonna host in lawns etc. I might be naive in my opinion bcos its my 1st HT but its definitely not trash by long shot. Yes they did install HT and gave the warranty card along. BTW TV warranty card is going to come after sometime but dealer gave another warranty card for the time being.

No. TV will not display folders. Same issue with ST50. Don't know whether this is a Panasonic software issue or a generic issue.

Re: How to access folders on a hard drive

Hi,

I have 1 TB HDD which I have connected with XT50. Now problem is I have multiple folders for Blue Ray Prints, Hindi Movies, English Movies and so on..

Now, I am unable to see these folders. All movies are listed in one go...

Any option to see folders???

I too experienced the same thing when I tried to learn DLNA and using media server - the TV recognized my laptop and listed everything in one go. So it seems nothing can beat a laptop connected to an AVR - with files being played on XBMC. Just like the XBMC interface - need to get a remote to remotely control my laptop. Of course moving my aXX 10 feet once in a while will do the trick as well:p

Re: HT delivery.

Mine was delivered at home alongwith TV, Please note that my TV was with dealer for a week before I took delivery since I was outstation. I made them install both TV & HT together as well.

How is the HT performing. Please share the experience. Also what is the model?
Thnx in advance.

So I have finally got a 50inch XT50. I cost me 61.5k with 1 3d glass (no HT). My initial thoughts are
1. Pixelation - The performance with SD Set top is awesum. No pixelation (my viewing distance is ~12 feet). Will be getting HD box soon. Will give a view on that soon
2. 3D - I dwlded some 3d Movies and saw them on this TV. I saw continously for 45mins and I had no issues w.r.t. headache and all. The quality of 3D is superb. The TV was able to capture the 3D effects perfectly.
3. Glare - This is one issue I could relate to. The glare is there. But if you put the curtains, the performance of the TV (specially for HD movies and sports) is really brilliant.
4. Burning - I have watched a lot of TV through Set Top box. The water mark of my set top box is in bold and well highlighted. Yet am yet to see any burning effect of the same yet. Hope it does not happen.
Overall, am quite satisfied with the performance of this TV :-)

Nice you are enjoying it. My reviews is very much similar. I had some problems with sub titles and some water colors in some videos. I realised that I had turned on or said Yes to every feature in the video settings. I turned off few of those settings and I now feel that even these two issues may have gone away. Overall I am pretty impressed. I got this one for 50K without glasses and pretty impressed. Thx

I now need to buy a second 3D glass and also a wifi dongle...can u guys suggest cheap but good quality alternative...I was told by some vendors that for wifi dongle, instead of buying the panasonic one, we can consider one sold by d-link...but dont have much details on which one...any suggestion on pricing of dongle and 3D glasses will really help

Since you already have one panasonic glass try and get your hands on a samsung 2012 glass - costs a fraction of panasonic price - around 1400 is the street price. And do let us know if you find a difference between the two.

Also did you have a big screen tv prior to this and have you done extensive research and previews before settling on this model? I ask since you seem very happy and wanted to confirm if you fall into the category of a videophile or whether your views are that of a layman

I did a lot of research on TVs in general cos I have this habit of doing extensive research and reading. Having said that, I can say with absolute certainty that I have no knowledge or understanding of video quality. My comments can be taken as strictly that of a layman :). I gave my opinion simply because I felt I owed it to this group as it really helped me make up my mind. btw, my earlier TV was a 32inch Sony LCD.
Regarding the 3D glass, I will buy one in some time once I ensure myself that it will be compatible. Will surely let everyone know my experience after that.

Congratulations - good product at a good price.

Regarding 3D movies - where did you download them from? Can you share links for everyone's benefits?

Its XH-170 model - you can see the specifications and features on the website. Have got it installed alongwith TV and can control its volume through TV remote now. In addition to hearing regular TV channels, I have also played few DVDs & music albums through HT and am overall quite satisfied with its performance. However I have not compared it with Onkyos, Denons etc as I was not planning to buy one but its a gr8 free gift for me as it surely improves overall experience since the TV speakers are not too good for Plasmas/LEDs these days and I would recommend everyone to consider HTs.

Congrats man....however I have seen Panasonic letter..50xt should have come with 2 glasses specially when u had paid 61k.....

U can also check flipkart .they r giving away 2 glasses at 60999...also it has nothing to do with price as anyways 50" model should come with 2........

Well...all I can say is that I bargained really hard at many shops across mumbai. The best I got was 59.5k without 3d glasses and 61k with one 3d glass...croma was selling at 64k without any 3d glasses and the best price with 2 3d glasses was 65k in a small local electronics shop. I did check flipkart, but they are not delivering this product to Mumbai (only Gurgaon faridabad and Delhi i think)...so did not have that option.

Also, my box was opened at my house...and there were no 3D glasses inside...the 3D glass and a laptop bag as a gift was given to me seperately 9and not in the box...so net net all i can say is that mayb some of u guys could get a better deal...but the deal i got was after my best efforts (dont think i could manage a better deal)
