Pansonic XT50 owners thread

Great. I dont have PS3 only a WII which is 480-p. so all my content is HSBS downloads and frankly I dont see them to be very different from Full HD. In fact the Hugo download at 10GB is still HSBS - but I am blown away by the quality - for me compared to some 10-12 movies I have seen thus far - Hugo is the reference quality when it comes to 3D....too good..no gimmicky pop outs but every screen has the depth:yahoo::yahoo:

Whats Hugo? Pardon my ignorance...You face flicker with lights on??

Also@ HT no updates yet..

ah..flicker on TV when lights turned on..I was stupid enough to assume its flicker when you watch tube lights or open windows with ur 3d glasses on....my bad...actually I experience this daily hence I posted my stupid comments. hehe

My Kids stripped apart the Plasma Box and thus cannot figure out the Serial Number..

Does TV has any sticker at his back to find out the sticker number..

What is your TV? The back side has a sticker mentioning the manufacturer, model and serial number. Perhaps this info is also available from the service menu.

XT50..Cannot move it off wall mount..getting stuck

There are two long screws each at the bottom of the two vertical bars that are directly screwed to the back of the TV. Look from the bottom, you will see them. You need to turn and loosen them to move the TV.

I have been noticing some flickering in fast movement only when I when i watch two and a half men recorded in HD. Also sometimes I see the subtitles flicker - not all times but sometimes..maybe when the background has dark and white shades

I have been watching olympics non stop and this flickering has nothing to do with fast motion - In fact sports on ESPN HD is mind blowing. Something to do with the 2 1/2 transmission I guess.

Re: backlight bleeding on plasma>

I have XT50...This is like backlight bleeding in LED/LCD

Try displaying a full black wall paper through USB.. This mght be transmitted bythe PS3.

^^This is how my VT20 looks in the fotos. (Not visible in most LCD. In real life it is a little more than the photos will make you believe).

Iam close to pulling the trigger on the XT50 for my acquitance. But if this is how it looks in the dark, I will drop the decision. 50k for 42" 3D with free home theatre looked too good to be true anyway..

Can you post pics too?

@lcdfreak : Is your contrast and brightness <= 50?? Else, change that and test again..
Reduce them all the way to 0 and post pic again with black wall paper. That is the minimum luminance.

Ok I checked my TV - First I looked at the screen turned off and then turned on with a black picture - the TV when turned on definitely is brighter compared to turn off - Guess this is what you are referring to. It has a slight greyish glow to it and definitely does not blend into the frame which is 100% black. Is this what you too are experiencing?

so good Plasmas even when turned on is as dark as the frames? Frankly it does not bother me as i am not testing the black levels of my TV - tata sky looks good on the TV and HD looks super..thats all I am expecting from this and yeah..at least 5 years of service!
