Pansonic XT50 owners thread

I agree. Since I work in a company where people constantly travel outside India and also since I have HT - I did not need either the 3d Glasses or the HT - so for me getting 50 inches at 50K was a sweet deal. I got 4 samsung glasses for 55 pounds - so I guess I can add 5K to my cost price including 4 glasses.

From what I read in other posts this is not a great HT and Panasonic is only trying to get rid of non moving stock and also as a match for Samsung offering the 3D player. Again something others have mentioned - They could be wrong

I agree dude.. But Metro did not respond positively when I contacted them without membership..

Who is the hyd member who said there is 50XT50 for 50k in metro hyd? Maybe I will go with him.. I cant find the post now.. can you point me to?

Deal is surely good (10K less than market and glasses dropped)... wish others had it as well.

Well this might not be true and has been mentioned by only 1 person - kix... lets see how it goes..

Funnily the keywords metro and hyd didnt get me the desired results.

However the below thread by me has the mention - so that guy made the comment on 22nd or 23rd July.

Yeah - thats why I mentioned its not my opinion. Did not want to disappoint prospective HT buyers with a careless comment.

Have you finally decided on the TV? seems you have been searching for more than a month now? did you try talking to Metro Delhi?

@Pralhads

If you haven't checked out plasma in home condition, you can visit my place dude.. You will realize why I say 50" is better and 3D is shit..

+1 for that Blasto... I wish we had 55/60" options available in India... as of now I only know of a 60" plasma from LG..

Thanks for your concern... I did check in metro delhi but they seem to have only 42" Plasmas here moreover I am going to buy for my other house in another city so had to plan accordingly...

BTW I did update about my proposed purchase in another thread on UT50 (incidently started by you only).. saw UT50 demo finally & finalized it. Last week asked the dealer to get it and he has received it now and I will get it delivered at home/installed next week since I am in Delhi now...

BTW someone got it in Mumbai for 76K incl 2 3D Glasses + HT offer...

Hey, where are you enquiring?

And believe me, glasses and 3D at all is practically useless.. I used 3D max 1-2 hours in my VT20.. Utter waste in a 42" I can guarentee..

So 50" for 50k is good..

Hmm..I am finding too my senior boarders being unimpressed with 3D. Not that I am great fan of 3D, but in a way you are getting it for free. Yet to watch a whole movie, but I have watched the first 10 mins of Hugo and it was a treat to watch it - I just hate the thought of wearing glasses.

I have downloaded all Pixar 3D movies plus few other animation 3D movies - my sons - 5 and 6 yrs old - just refuse to wear the glasses and I am not even sure if they understand what 3D is and they may not be perceiving the depth like we do;)

I was mentioning, if someone wants to buy a TV for 50k, 50XT50 is better than 42XT50 with HT and glasses even if you use only use 2D and forget the glasses.. My glasses are gathering dust.. 3D will appeal for the first 3 days and if you are into downloading, another week. Then you run out of contents.. So, spend as minimum as possible for 3D.. Free is optimal.. ;)

And the HT is DVD only which means no HD contents.. I mean, how much more candid one can be? Samsung bluray player is far better.

BLASTO;394465 And the HT is DVD only which means no HD contents.. I mean said:
Thanks for clarifying this, and I always thought HT means DVD Unit with capability to Upscale, Speakers, Woofer, Subwoofer etc generating 1000 W PMPO as mentioned on Panasonic Website...

Yes it is including all that..

I meant it cannot play any MKV files or bluray.. Essentially no HD contents.. Only normal DVDs and dvd rips maybe..

I guess he was mentioning the lack of Blu ray playing capability. Also if this one does not have a USB and cannot play HD movies of it - then thats a dampner - upscaling DVDs can only do so much to the picture quality

It has USB support..N

USB Standard USB 2.0 Full Speed

MP3*3 Yes
DivX/DivX HD*1 Yes / -
JPEG Yes

Re: backlight bleeding on plasma>
