Pass B1

Well we all start as lazy bums in one way or the other and then one day we get bored of our setups and the "kida" starts biting our butt and thats when we feel like experimenting :)

Yes.....quite true. I am kind of revamping my whole setup. Been with my current setup for around 4 years. The 'keda' has definitely bitten hard by now!:)

Now that we are closing in on the GB and have a decent number, is any of you interested in having a group buy for a case? I remember that there was some discussions with FM Magma regarding making cases for Pass B1 some time ago. Did that work out, and can that option be used in case anyone is interested?

If we see a potential for a case Group Buy, then we can start a new thread for that and keep this one focused on just the B1 kit.

Additionally, all of us will need RCA plugs, some wire (though CAT5 cable can be used for this), spacers, a switch (if you want to use multiple sources). I am assuming that knobs, IEC will be part of the case

I have no idea about switches. Are there locally available ones that will suffice, or do we need to source better quality ones from outside?

Best Regards.

What .. another GB? @Sachin I beleive the last kit you gave me had the B1 parts and LS attenuator correct? I will need another B1 to put before the LSA. Without the PSU - I hope the single r-core obtained earlier can power both boards? If yes count me in for just the board.

Thanks

Guess what buddy! Pass B1 is the new kid on the block!. All present (more than 40, I gather) at the HFV pune meet went ga-ga over this (Om's B1 build).

Many (including me) who haven't even heard the B1 are taking the leap of faith! hope we don't land in soup.

Unless you use and hear Regular Pot, TE pot wont sound better. :D
Which pot are you referring to?;)

I have made it and listened to it. Don't worry, you will get much more than your money's worth.:)

Hi Capt,

I too am taking the leap after your opinions and others in the forum. Hope that it will be better than the SSP Pre with 49990,(I think Mr.Omishra is competent to comment on that as also Sachin). :)

Any way I will retain the best of the two, since my Tube pre is already being cooked, and hope will be served well before this Christmas.:licklips:

If you want to hear it, I can loan it to you. Only problem is, it doesn't have a cabinet. The one sourced from Magma was supposed to be modded to accommodate wooden side panels supplied by him but the panels cannot be fixed onto the cabinet due to faulty design.

You have given the design or magma did it ?

Count me in for the r-core.

Wish to see the pic of the enclosure if available.

Now heading to ebay for some tools.
Is the multimeter necessary?
