Post your latest AV purchase(s)......

Hello,
I have recently added Lyrita 2a3 integrated Amp to my setup. They drive Lyrita horn speakers. Find the wattage adequate enough and the complete set up is quite enjoyable and detailed. The amp is fed thro' a DAC and steamer. Lyrita amps have also gotten quite expensive similar to other audio hifi makers.
Thanks - Naj.

I was initially planning to buy a new turntable and even asked for suggestions here. In the meantime, I decided to revive my old turntable, and thanks to Mr. Mony's expertise, I got it up and running again! He recommended upgrading the phono stage for better performance, which led me to the iFi Zen Phono 3—and I couldn't be happier with the choice.

The Zen Phono 3 has truly transformed my vinyl listening experience. The sound is rich, detailed, and dynamic, giving my records a new lease on life. The best part? I can now use it seamlessly with my Hegel amp, eliminating the hassle of swapping amps whenever I’m in the mood for vinyl.

Highly recommend the iFi Zen Phono 3 to anyone looking to upgrade their phono stage—amazing value and fantastic sound!

Next on my list: a VFM cartridge upgrade to take things to the next level!

I've personally used the iFi Zen Phono 2 for a long time, and with the addition of an LPS, it truly shines. I auditioned many phono stages in the ₹75k–1L range but kept coming back to the iFi. It's a highly recommended phono preamp!

I was tempted to upgrade to the Zen Phono 3 but ended up getting a great deal on a Vertere Phono, so I went with that.

Enjoy your listening, and if possible, try adding an LPS for an even better experience!

For Carts, try analogseduction website, they at times have NOS carts which are sold cheap. PM we can discuss more.

I took a chance, again and bought a old pair of Gradient Revolution (a few decades old, but looking much younger) I did this after reading a review of these unusual speeches by John Atkinson (Stereophile). The looks of this speaker are unusual too with a kind of pyramid shaped enclosure for the coaxial tweeter and mid woofer sitting on top of a open baffle 12” woofer arrangement (dipole)

The combination of a very pleasing tonal quality, superb imaging, satisfying bass and transparency have made these speakers the most satisfying purchase i've made in years... I finally get what it feels like to hear ”unboxed” sound.
(No putting the genie back into the box for me.)

Will be trying out some amps with more power (hopefully) but I don’t have anything to complain about with the current chain at all.
Aurender X100L (streaming and stored CD rips) to Holo Cyan 2, to the Thoress EHT.

Several extended and pleasurable listening sessions later and I am still excited about the current set up.
The designer of this speaker set out to design speakers that minimise the problems caused by room acoustics, speacially standing waves between floor and ceiling. I am not sure how, but I now believe this is a great start point for any serious speaker designer. This is the easiest speaker I have had in terms of placement and it sounds very good across a number of musical generes. That for me is a rare thing.

Hi, is there any solid difference after adding IsoAcoustics? I am also looking forward to buying it for the turntables/speakers.

thank you
vishnu
Chalk and cheese difference literally. Bass is tighter, mids are sweeter and more coherent, soundstage is more forward now. Probably the best value for money tweak I've made.

Did you feel any softening in dynamics compared to steel spikes/cups? I liked everything other than that.

Afaic the default spikes were the biggest culprit causing all the annoying vibrations and reverberations. I'm only too relieved to have replaced them with the outstanding Isoacoustics Gaia III isolators. With the spikes, the ever-important transients and dynamics were badly smeared to me atleast. With the isolators on, it's been a revealing game-changer to say the least. But as always, one man's meat is another man's poison especially in audio.

Which speaker?

Bought Mission QX2 MK II, My first Hi-Fi seperate component. Loads of Bass, Forward vocals, Laid Back and very Warm sound - Low frequencies overshadow all other frequencies except for vocal [Frequency below 77hz most prominent at all listening levels i.e. whispering sound level to high decibel]. Mid Bass is present and but not thumping. Highs are there but not simmering, somewhat restricted and sub-dued.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
