Thanks! I had a friend pick it up from Singapore, cost me around 28k in INR.Congratulations! How much did you pay? Did you compare other similar models from Onkyo/Denon/Pioneer/Marantz? Why did you specifically choose this one?
Is there a site where we can compare the features of these different brand AVRs side by side?
I did compare it to the Denon 1911 and Onkyo 608, but unfortunately wasn't able to audition all three together. Of the three, the Yamaha (seemingly) sounded the nicest.
Congrats for purchasing v667 :clapping:, even i also went for it as liked the sound and its features, yamaha has got its own sound signature with dedicated fans.but I thought the Yamaha is better suited for music than the Onkyo. The Denon was great, but had less features at a slightly higher price.
My latest AV purchase: Yamaha RX V667 AVR
Next up - bookshelf speakers to go with the receiver. Will start with a stereo setup and build up to a 5.1 setup over time.

Hi,
Is it a good idea to keep the AVR, PS3 etc inside glass/wooden shelves? I heard they produce a lot of heat and need proper ventilaton? Please tell me, as I am also looking for a nice cabinet, but am confused how to design it as I thought that the equipments would need ventillation.
It is very very necessary..I had recently bought an audio rack with glass shutters. PS3 gets heated very fast and so I let the glass shutter open always while playing and pulls the PS3 out so that the fan faces outwards.(old 60gb model).Yesterday while playing PS3, suddenly with a big bang, the glass broke into pieces(tempered one)..Think, The heat from the PS3 via the fan caused this...
