Congrats Shaju!

just wanted to shout vjc's question again :)

"Could you please share your experiences in selecting 2311 over 1911."

Reason can be more power, connectivity, matching with speakers,7.1 preouts

Spirovious has summarized it well. Denon 1911 is a great option but 2311 power made a difference based on my hearing at The Shop. Denon 2311 easily matched with the Paradigm 7s, 9s and Polk Audio RTi A5s that I had auditioned.

1911 has only 4 HDMI inputs. 2311 has 6 of them.
1911 has no overlay OSD over HDMI. 2311 ticks that for easy navigation.

Also I took advice from magma, kittu and few other forum members.

Hi,

Thanks.

Yes, it is custom made. its really good idea to keep the doors of glass and keep the systems in the glass covered shelf. i missed this option but anyway you can go ahead and enjoy.

Size of the rack is 6 ft X 2.5 ft and approx cost is around 12k.

Hi,
Is it a good idea to keep the AVR, PS3 etc inside glass/wooden shelves? I heard they produce a lot of heat and need proper ventilaton? Please tell me, as I am also looking for a nice cabinet, but am confused how to design it as I thought that the equipments would need ventillation.

Yes! More ventilation better. Heat can really screw up the electronics inside. If you live in a hot region along with more ventilation a fan (not a ceiling fan :)) to cool it down is also highly advised. An AC would be great.
Do not cover it with anything, the amps and receivers tend to generate a lot of heat...i mean a lot!!

Open the cover of an amp or AVR and u will find big thick 'heat sinks'. Ventilation for amps is like oil for your car or Bullet!

Cool....so now I would need to think of a nice design for the cabinet on which the AVR would be properly ventillated and also look nice, as its looks like a huge black box :(!

But I can keep the AVR on wooden surface, right? I hope it doesnt heat up so much that it will catch fire !

Does anyone have some nice designs for cabinets? I wanna place the AVR, PS3, BDP, Media Player, Wifi Router and a PC Cpu on it :)!

Thanks kittu.
Will do a short review and video soon with my limited knowledge.

Awesome stuff. Looks too good. What was the price? ;)

180 + 10 for next day shipping from an UK ebay seller. It has 1 year warranty too.

I bought this as I'm not able to enjoy my Grado's to its full potential plugged into my laptop or the integrated amp. Also I want to get a taste of much acclaimed tube sound :licklips:
I tried the Chordette Toucan Headphone Amplifier at an Hi-fi exhibition. That amp is great but costs a bomb 800 :D
So thought this is better after reading the reviews on various forums.
