Post your latest AV purchase(s)......

Got a ExpressCard to USB 3.0 adaptor from Renesas Electronics for 35 AUD.

This helps my laptop (Dell Studio 15) which doesn't have a USB 3.0 slot, to achieve superspeed port speeds to connect to my USB 3.0 ext. hard disk using the express card slot.

Purchased V-DAC by Musical Fidelity last month for $299 from Amazon. I am using it to connect my laptop to stereo system. Fantastic improvement in sound as compared to using ipod as a source.

Bought my HT gear last month, yet to set it up
Epson 8350 PJ
Klipsch 1000 HD 5.1 Speakers and powered sub woofer
DENON 1912 Receiver
Sony BDP S580
XBOX 360 with Kinect

Hi,

Recently I bought the Panasonic BD-45 bluray player , the picture quality is abolutely spectacular. Check it out if you have a good blu ray collection.

Thanks

Just had my FiioE7 delivered from Lynx. No problems dealing with them. The product is pretty decent. Good build quality and nice sound. If anyone wants, I can post a detailed impression after clocking a few hours. Initial impressions are that detail and clarity are greatly improved.

Are you using it as a headphone amplifier or as a standalone DAC connected to an amplifier?

Received Arcam rDAC and Mordaunt Short Aviano-2 Speakers. Weekend looks good this week. :)

Congrats! Please post impressions and photos as soon as you can!

I wanted to use it only as a DAC since my ATs don't really need the amplification. Currently, the chain is Dell 1720 > Fiio E7 > ATH-M50. I did some prelim research and I don't think it is possible to bypass the amp section of the E7 and tap only the DAC. Also, I noticed distortion when I played some tracks. On further Googling, I found that upping the volume on the E7 and lowering it in FB2K removed the distortion and the SQ was much more pleasing. The courier guy showed up late in the evening so I have only managed about 30 mins of listening but I can already tell there is improvement.

So, to answer your question - it's in headphone amp+dac mode.

Congrats! Where did you buy the rDAC from? Damages to the wallet?

Have a great weekend! :)
Bought it from Custom Cables UK. Final landing cost is odd 24K.

The Avianos are just amazing. The mids are so better than my previous polks. The differences are subtle though. They still need some burn in period to actually shine but even if they dont change their characteristics, I am very much satisfied with the performance. They look a lot better, are a lot smaller, lot more manageable.

I guess my chain is completed now. No more money to be spent on all these upgrades now. Already spent so much in so many iterations. :P

I had ordered Speaker stands from Group buy section of this forum.
Was pleasantly surprised to get delivery yesterday despite the heavy rains that Mumbai is facing since last 2-3 days. The material was very nicely packaged.
Assembled them and mounted my Wharf 10.1's on them. Till now, I had the speakers wall-mounted because of fear that my kids might topple them and also because at the time of buying the speakers, I did not want to invest appx 10K in stand mounts.
When I played my favourite music, the speakers really sounded much better, with the midbass boom, which the wharfs are (in)famous for, reduced to a good extent. Even my wife could feel the difference!
My thanks to Ali for the great quality at a very reasonable price.
