ANyway I thnk it is a steal for this price AED 1999 comes to around Rs. 24989 (@ Rs.12.50 per AED), say I will pay some 6000 -7000 for transport and duty (@10% customs duty for electronics should be around 3500 with wahtever surcharge etc, and 3-4k for transport), So the whole thing must be around 30K)

I was wondering what the actual cost of all there REALLY are?

Bought Yamaha RX-V471 from Beats99 (Mulund) for Rs. 25k as a part of mini group buy. Today it is being delivered :yahoo:

So I was fedup with USB 2.0 Speeds and copying over the network. So almost a year ago, I planned to move to USB 3.0 but since prices for USB 3.0 components were high, I decided to wait. eSata was affordable, but I decided to skip it all together as USB 3.0 was faster. In the meanwhile, whenever I had to buy an external HDD, I always bought Seagate Go-Flex Hard-disks as the GoFlex Platform offered flexibility. Here is how the goflex platform works. The standard GoFlex HDD came with a detachable top section and a USB 2.0 dock, but we could buy a eSata or USB 3.0 or Network Dock and attach the HDD to it and it would become that. Then, I also needed a flexible solution for internal HDDs and I did not want to have a NAS for the sake of it. Also, RAID was not required as the data was not critical. So, here is what I bought:

Seagate GoFlex Home Network Storage System
IMGP9230.JPG

I bought the 1TB version as I was interested in the Network Dock more than the Hard-disk. I would have paid a higher difference for a 2TB version. The dock is the same and can even be used with 3TB Go-Flex HDD.

Cost Rs.6500/- after using a coupon

Hi,

Congratulations Venu.

I would love to hear the DAC.A trip to B'lore is in the offing.

Regards
Rajiv

Hi,

It is very neutral DAC with 24/192 Async USB. the ripped CD's played through VLC is better than played through my DVD player and coax connected to the DAC.

I earlier had a TDA1541A DIY DAC which was better than CD/SACD players costing >50K.

I am yet hear any other CDP/DAC to match this..

Come for a listen
