Do you today see a shadow on the moon? If so then that is because I am over the moon to be finally able to write on this thread!
Here is what I just bought:
Yamaha RX-V471, Sonodyne Sonus 1501 BS * 2.
The Sonodynes go in the front, old Sony SS-DX3s go in the back as surround and an Edifier Center channel. It is a makeshift HT I know, but that will do it for me for the time being.
I will be using the Sonodynes at the front for 2 channel stereo music, music is what I will be listening to 80% of the time. Some may ask why an AVR then and not an amp, well I could not afford 2 different setups for music and movies. Did not wish to lose the HT capability so went for the AVR. I chose the Yamaha over Denon and others after reading a lot in this forum and auditioning some myself. I liked Yamaha's musical ability more than Denon, and I feel the Sonodyne's sound signature pairs well with the Yamaha. If not outstanding, it is quite good. Yamaha is a tad bright with its heightened high frequencies, found the Sonodynes to be a little warm, they make a good pair. Not a match made in heaven, but perhaps a couple who fell for each other in trying circumstances and have stuck!
As time permits, I hope to come up with a review, and a bit more detailed !
