Adit,
Did you mean this FW version
http://www.acryan.com/downloads/PV73100/Beta/Firmware_PV73100_v7.06.r4318_European.zip
About HD passthrough it played DTS-HD MA 7.1 with no problems, but when I tried to play Dolby TrueHD 7.1 there was no audio. I downloaded sample video files from
.
They didnt mention Dolby TrueHD in the specs, but they mentioned Dolby TrueHD (and not DTS-HD MA) in their official video. See the video below:Dolby TrueHD 7.1 is not mentioned on their site too
"The above materials are sent for demo purpose".
A big let out by AC Ryan !!!!
:-(
The reason why I had purchased AC Ryan (after trading my WD TV HD Gen1) is to ensure that I get HD audio passthrough because I own a Onkyo HTIB which decodes all HD audio formats.
But to my big disappointment when I tested my POHD last night with all my test audio files of mkv, and m2ts, I only found the following.
1. No passthrough and downmix of DolbyTrueHD.
2. Passthrough of only core stream of DTS-HD MA and DTS-HD HR which means effectively you get only lossy DTS stream to the receiver and hence my AVR just shows DTS.
So in simple words, it doesnt support HD audio as they claim to be.
The box came with the latest beta firmware preinstalled.
Other things noted:-
1. Crap GUI / menu.
2. Audio starts after 2 seconds for any file.
3. Hangs up quite lot often even when I play simple SD movie file.
4. wireless - not tested
So verdict:-
ACRYAN is nowhere near to WD in my opinion.

Guru,
Please write back your observations to AQtronics(ranga)/AC Ryan forum. They may release a new firmware bundled with fixes to these problems.
Too early to pass a verdict .......(As per indian legal system)

Yes I connected my POHD to the Onkyo Receiver (HTS-3300) which supports all HD audio through HDMI only.Guru98, am asking this coz i too was looking for the HDMA passthrough feature of this model-U connected it to the AVR via HDMI and not Optical right?
My POHD came installed with v7.0.06.r4318. I installed 1TB seagate hardisk with 7200 rpm ( didn't get 5400 rpm ones).
About HD passthrough it played DTS-HD MA 7.1 with no problems, but when I tried to play Dolby TrueHD 7.1 there was no audio.
Is not the latest version Version: v7.3.x.r3582?
