Prices quoted by the salesman at Croma @ Ghatkopar (Mumbai)

PV8 - 50K
PV80 - 46K
PQ70 - 49K

These were the quoted rates and when asked about the best rates they asked me 'How much do you want it for?!!'. Basically, these are negotiable rates.

What are the best rates available for these models (especially the PQ70) in Mumbai?

PS: The Panasonic PV8 looked considerably dimmer than the other panels in the showroom. Could it have been deliberately set to low brightness? It was next to a Vu panel which was painfully bright!

With some bargain, PQ70 you should get it for around 43K with fre HDMI cable. I have checked this with VIjay, Croma and eZone few weeks back.

Plasma eequires Darker surrounding -if you want to see movies in partial light ,or partial daylight ( real life condition) it CANNOT beat lcd

Think twice if you are not having dedicated room or any bright source like window opposite it!

I do not have a dedicated room and I do have a large French window on the opposite wall but if I watch something in daytime (which is rare), I keep the drapes shut. During evening, night it is NOT a problem.

80% of the STB watching happens with the lights on even at nights. Only when I'd want to watch a hi-def movie would I try and create a dark ambience. Do I still go for a plasma as opposed to LCD. Budget is a big issue for me and I DO NOT want to go down than 42".

last week i visited ezone and they gave me 58k quote for LA40B530 . and 52k for LA37B530

How much is the LA37B530 for now? Compare India is showing Mahavir's Pune quote at 50.5K, is that a good deal? I am actually looking for a full HD 37" LCD now.

I agree, I was able to bring him down to 41.5K for PQ70 with free HDMI cable without any exchange. This is Vijay Sales @ Pune. I didnt buy though since I didnt like the PQ so much

The price from Atlas Radio, right next to Metro Cinema, Mubai for Panny VIERA TX-37LZ80 is 45000/-. Full HD...brand new piece with 1 year manufacturer warranty...No exchange....Seems like this fellow works only on 1000Rs. margin..contact no.s 9920287570, 22054359

anyone with the latest on Samsung LA37B530 price? Help please...

PS - is there going to be this humongous sale tomorrow everywhere? especially eZone? Nothing in the papers today in Pune.

hey gfreeman,
B750 is an amazing lcd, wher exactly in bangalore did u get those prices?.. the mrp is 1.4l i guess, rite?..

Hey nikhil_j. Got that quote from Girias 3 weeks ago. No one's beaten that price as yet. I have gone all around Bangalore hunting for a display for the past one month Until last Saturday no one had a display. However was told by a few(APM,Unilet,Kundan) that they could arrange delivery within a day. Unilet(ndiranagar) was quoting 111000, Kundan(Cox Town)110000 and APM(CMH Road)around 115000.

Spoke to guys at Reliance and Ezone. They expect Samsung to ship these in larger numbers by this month end. So i guess prices could come down even further and we also might end up having a few displays.

Infact i am torn between the 46B750 and the 50inch V10? The V10 is also expected to be here around Sept/Oct

In addition to my earlier reply, after having visited different showrooms, I observed that a lot of dealers can actually offer a 20%-25% discount on the MRP on most Samsung TVs
For eg
46B7000-145000-147000-19.45%.( i am not aware of the lowest price on this model, but i have seen dealers offer this price)
46b750-107000-(23.58%)

Ezone (Indira Nagar) Bangalore is offering Samsung 40" LED (40B6000?) at 84.5K without the free 22" TV. Deal ends tomorrow.
Other 40":
Samsung B530: 54K, B550: 62K
LG LH50: 59.5K

That price quote on the B6000 is a good deal, a whopping 33% less than the MRP I am sure even the B7000 40 and 46 inchers will be significantly lesser. The 46 inch b7000 should be definitely lower than the price mentioned in my earlier post.

As i thought Pai is offering the 46 inch B7000 for 121000(i.e 59000 less than the MRP)

Hi Gfreeman,

Which pai showroom are you referring to? I hope you are talking about the LED TV right?

I haven't such kind of variations with SONY with different shops.

Hello all,

My additions to the price thread as a result of some auditioning attempts for 42" TV's over the long weekend.

Type Make Model Unilet Ezone RTO Panasonic
LCD LG 42LH50 57000* 59500 ----- -----
LCD Panasonic 42LZ80 ----- ----- 59990* -----
Plasma Panasonic 42PV8 45000 44250 43000 44500
Plasma Panasonic P42X10 56000 ----- ----- 58000*
Plasma Panasonic P42S10 66500 ----- 64990* 65000*
Plasma Panasonic P42C10 ----- 49000 ----- 49000

(Copy this to notepad / a spreadsheet for easier reading, I've tried to format it multiple times as a table and failed).
* = Sticker price, others are negotiated price.
RTO = Reliance Digital at Reliance Time Out, Cunningham Road, Bangalore
Unilet = Unilet Electronics, Sanjaynagar, Bangalore
Panasonic = Panasonic Brand shop at Rajajinagar 1st Block, Bangalore
Ezone = Sigma Mall, Cunningham Road and Big Bazaar, Old Madras Road, Bangalore

Notes:
1. Except at Reliance and Panasonic Brand shop, every other outlet had salespersons pushing LCDs over Plasmas. Plasma was almost a bad word to them - and they were clearly un / mis educated about Plasma's (highlight - the Ezone Sigma Mall salesperson trying to convince me that Plasmas contributed to an increase in body temperature.... left me picking my jaw off the floor)
2. The Plasma outputs were terrible at Ezone and Unilet (and Giria's), every which way, compared to even LG entry level LCDs placed alongside and not even close to Sony Bravia LCD V series. Had me seriously questioning my judgement and my eyes.
3. Reliance and Panasonic had, by far, the best comparison setup's. Good lighting (reflected, not direct), and the same content played on LCD and Plasma and the correct settings to show off the best qualities of each type. You can really see how Plasma's shine (literally, figuratively) compared with LCD. They dont attempt to push any one type, let you watch in peace and provide answers to your questions.

Panasonic specific inputs:
1. The P42C10 comes with a single-layer plasma screen that displays better brightness and clarity compared with P42X10 (dual layer screen), but at the cost of higher screen reflection. One can see close to LCD like sharpness, especially for HD content.
2. P42S10 - is an entry level Full HD Plasma. The image quality is very good, but this is one TV that definitely needs lower-level lighting compared to the X10 and the C10 (both HD ready). The G10 series is clearly the way to go for Full HD Plasma. (After the fact: Web reviews of the S10 rate it pretty poorly).

Thanks and I hope this is useful!

Hi Srinivas29. You will definitely not get Sony with so many variations . The maximum difference that you will see between the Sony MRP on the website and the dealer price is 4k on most models.I was referring to the Indiranagar Showroom and yes it was the b7000 46 inch LED model. The guy was telling me it was only valid for Saturday and Sunday. Am not really sure if he was telling the truth

Your note on Reliance being one of the best dealers for a side by side comparison is worth mentioning . I really din feel good about Plasmas anywhere and i hence never considered them for a TV purchase. Though a lot of enthusiasts were harping about plasmas being the best i never saw that feel anywhere in any of the city stores. But i really think i made the right choice by visiting this store a couple of weeks back and did a very good side by side comparison.
All the plasmas were so good in terms of viewing angle, motion, colours and blacks compared to the LCDs around them although one model( i think it was on the extreme left) showed some kind of trailing in a fast motion football scene.
The plasma is definitely now in my hit list. I am really looking forward to the V10 when it launches in India along with the B750

when u play a video consisting majority of white color,u will see the drawbacks of plasma, they aren't good in whites, the g10 fares better.in plasmas u don't get motion blur, but u can notice phospor trail.

when comparing a panasonic plasma to a panasonic lcds, the difference in black levels will be a lot, since panasonic lcds based on IPS have poor black levels compared to plasmas which usualy have no problem in displaying good blacks.to do a fair comparision u will need to compare it with lcds from sony and samsung which have comparable black levels ,sometimes even deeper blacks ,all lcds are however very good at displaying whites.

Hi

I am currently in UK and coming back to India. I wanted to validate price of of LCD TV that I bought here

I bought Panasonic Vierra S10 32 inch Full HD for 440 pounds thats about 35000 Rs. Can anyone tell me if that is a good price compared to India? or should I be better of buying from India.
