Just of curiosity, what is it you mean by that? Are you somehow implying that a LCD has a longer life than a Plasma? For if you are, it is absolutely not true.

Thats what I thought. I thought things like pixel burn-in, half-life etc are
applicable only to plasma. Please educate me if I am incorrect. Also since
I have already bought the display piece, let me know things that I have
to look out for. The unit is covered in warranty for 1 year by Sony and
one more year by the shop.

BTW Though I initially thought about a 42", after making some measurements in my
bedroom, anything larger than a 32" would have made it difficult for the placement.
So I decided to buy a 32" only.

However I certainly agree that the larger the screen the better the viewing
pleasure no matter if it is full hd or hd ready.

@alokbharti = Looks like a huge majority of people have acknowledged the fact the SD is better in Samsung than others...and yes 60-70% of my viewing will be SD.

Its just that the 10k diff between the C10 and C450 is keeping me thinking :sad:. Does the C10 have similar greying issues of the Pana plasmas lineup ??? If so, then I guess its not worth considering as no one would want to buy something knowing its defect.

A C10 owner can confirm this issue. It is 2009 model and they might have noticed it in one year usage.. however 10K difference is huge and c10 at 31.5K is excellent price.. I can understand your dilemma.. If you are planning to move to HD DTH and have HD movies to play.. no need to think just grab it.. make sure it is not a demo/display piece..

Grab it before it is gone..

Put it into whitewash mode and check if it has any retension (a panasonic usually does not have).
Even for new pieces, you are not sure! There are instances where demo piece is passed on to customers. This seems a honest and good deal if there is no IR.

Price with no gift is around 61-62k. Check if the extras are worth the 6k. I dont know what is the gift you are talking about.

Few months back B series 650 was sold for 61k with free sun HD connection though.

I also saw a Samsung LCd @ Croma Mulund..dont remember the model but it was priced @ 49,990 and a 5.1 HTIB was thrown in with it.

R u talking about new Series C models.. I think the one I mentioned here is still not available in the showrooms. As per them , It will come in next one week.
The gift is not worth 6K. He said it simple one only..
