Buenos Aires Cafe - The Instrumental Tangos![]()
Have grown up listening to these artists (my dad's collection, I am just 26) and bring back the memories of growing up.
Well my choice of music makes me seem older.....
Putumayo presents : Asian Lounge![]()
One of the fair compilations, indeed.
Its rather surprising that among all the audiophiles barely a few mentions New Age/ World music. Audiophilia seems to be confined to Jazz, Classic Rock with a lil ghazal and classical sprinkled around.
No offences meant to anyone, I also adore the aforementioned genres a lot.
Just an attempt to chid you audiophiles to dig out that old enigma/enya lying around in your collection.
Me listening right now to:
Voyageur - Enigma.
Lucky to start a 2 hour early weekend.
Happy Listening

Lucky you - I'm stuck at work and looks like an all-nighter.
Would love to try out New Age/ World - what would you recommend as a starting point for a total noob? A sampler/ compilation cutting across artistes/ sub-genres maybe?
@dvdmkI have some Putumayo collection , including Putumayo world instruments , Putumayo Blues , latin , Putumayo Africa .
Some good musics from Celtic such as Enya , Clannad
I also love Blonkers and Chris Spheeris ( easy listening )
@rikhav: Initial buddha bar compilations were surely good with only the passionate Claude Challe doing everythihng, with the popularity came commercialization and stepped in DJs like Ravin n Popat thats where i stopped purchasing their stuff.Good point indeed Sarang
Enigma has many hits to their credit like Sadness, Mea Culpa, Return to Innocence
Buddha Bar series will be good choice to start listening world music?
