Good choice. Loved EC's 'From the Cradle' as well.. lately he seems to be better at blues covers than at his own pop-rock stuff.
Robert Johnson is of course the holy grail of blues guitar players; apparently Keith Richards and Brian Jones in the early days of the Stones developed their famous 'interweaving' style by listening and imitating those records. They used to think Johnson had another guitarist playing alongside on rhythm. In time they figured out that he handled both parts on his own, AND sang at the same time. No overdubs!
Listened last night to 'Bemisaal', a 2 volume round-up of Begum Akhtar's AIR sessions. Fascinating in particular is an interview segment with Qaiser Qalandar, then one of the leading young Urdu poets. Utterly charming - Begum Sahiba holds forth on a variety of subjects; first stage performance, teachers, influences.. and a very tactful response to what she thought of film music!

Eric Clapton - Me and Mr. Johnson. Classic blues. I just love the laid back feel Clapton slips into each song.
