The first album by Floyd after Waters walked out of the band, this one does manage to live up to expectations with ethereal, spacey music and almost poetic lyrics. Taking up most of the production and musical arrangements, Gilmour's genius shines through on all the tracks, but especially on 'The Dogs of War'. A thoroughly Floydian album.

I like Terminal Frost. Very spacey.

But, hope you've meanwhile discovered a bit Nevermore? In my eyes the best album is Dead Heart in a Dead World -> please try it if not done already.

hi, i got this a long time back from a person called prithvi from bangalore ,he does sell/stock a variety of this telarc cds but most of them are unknown titles,but this ones got a few good tarcks to tst out the 5.1 set up,will try to get u his contact (these are not sold in music stores)

Both the CDs you have referred to (Chesky Records The Raven/Rebecca Pidgeon & Water Lily Acoustics - Meeting By The River/V. M. Bhatt & Ry Cooder) have been on my MUST HAVE list for long. Guess our tastes are similar.

Btw, Checky Records and Water Lily Acoustics are excellent labels with very well engineered pressings.

ya thats right its prithvi from absolute phase-09844094669//080-25327496, had pickd up 2 cds sorround sampler(DTS)and fantasy adventure album both of them have very high quality recordings from Telarc company ,but again all tracks are not that great ,but few of them are very good,price paid --abt 1000rs for the Dts sampler and 750rs for the 2nd one

Have you listened to Multichannel CDs : Alan Parsons - On Air (DTS) / Eagles - Hell Freezes Over (DTS)? How do you compare these with your DTS sampler? Do I miss anthing if I settle with the above mentioned DTS CDs and not hear the sampler ever? I believe DTS sampler is nothing more than some songs recorded on a CD in DTS format, but then so are the ones mentioned above. Am I getting this whole thing wrong in the basics?

you are right its jst recorded on a cd in dts format but at a higher bit rate so you get very high qulity sound when compared to some cds, and also these cds have only very few tracks to chk out your full sorround set up , have not heard the cds u mentioned on sorround formats ,but i have the Eagles -fare well tour,live in melbourne on DVD its on DTS this dvd is far better than the sampler as the sorround chanels are busy in all the tracks,,,as of the audio cds u mentioned ,i have not heard them on Dts format but i have them on regular cds ,,where r these available??

have been a def lep fan for long, ever since pour some sugar on me. used to believe, pick up anything theirs and it'l be gold. hav on thru' the night, hi 'n dry, pyromania, hysteria, adrenalise, retro active, slang, vault and now yeah & sparkle lounge. however, can't say the same about 'yeah' or 'sparkle lounge'. still waiting for something to stick. may need more listening sessions.
