Thanks for the pointer on XBMC, I'm loving it. Installed XBMC on my home PC and connected the PC to my AVR via HDMI. Now playing songs or watching movies from my PC to AVR/TV is so easy. Wish Xtreamer also had the same interface.

Has anyone configured weather updates recently in XBMC ? I just cant seem to make it work . Here's what I've been doing :

(skin-transparency,if that matters)

Settings --> appearance --> International (Region - India 12h/24h)
Weather --> change area code 1 --> New Delhi
Weather --> get more --> Weather plus
Settings --> provider (accuweather/english) --> run location selector (New Delhi) --> XBMC search 50% - error script failed !!!

Someone please help with setting up weather updates in XBMC.

Bought Zotac zbox Nano AD10 yesterday for my HTPC. Total cost about 21K which includes 1.3 K for 4 GB RAM ( G.Skill) and 4k for 500GB (2.5" HDD from Hitachi).
I will install OS and XMBC for HTPC. Which version of windows 7 works best with XBMC?
I will post the pics after I reach home and also its feed back. Presently I'm in Kolkata for some official work.

seems you r doing it right .... I have to recreate the scenario to see what could be wrong as I configured my weather settings the very first day I installed XBMC on my HTPC and since then havent touched those settings, so cant remember if I followed exactly the way you are doing here ...... let me get back to you ....

Any version of windows would do ... home premium is the most common of all I guess. I use Ultimate.

I've added my movies to library,changed skins, make it boot directly in XBMC - all with the steps provided by you...but this @#$% weather just wont work.

Also, on startup I get Intel BIOS screen then win 7 welcome screen and then it loads XBMC.
Though bios and win 7 welcome screen appear for a short time - is there a way to bypass any of these or else have custom picture etc instead ?

Weather plus and other weather plugins are not working for me also. Weather Plus worked for me only once when I tried a few days back. I added Cochin as the location. Now XBMC shows a 'Internet connection required' message. Probably that plugin has some bugs.

You can change the windows animation and startup screen, I have discussed it in my HTPC thread.

I was hoping to add these steps, but since baijuxavior have added nicely I will point you in that direction. How ever the tools I used differe a bit.

1. I dont use Event ghost at all. I use windows 7 MMC console to boot directly in to XBMC.

2. I apart from Win7LogonBackgroundChanger and windows 7 boot updater, I also used Logon screen tweaker to get the desired result.

You just install, Win7LogonBackgroundChanger and windows 7 boot updater and you should be able to get rid of windows logon screen. Steps are easy and self explanatory .....

About getting rid of the BIOS logo screen, thats a bit complicated and would depend on your BIOS itself. Let me prepare a details explanation to achieve this ...

Are you talking about booting into xbmc or changing the boot screen appearance? You don't need eventghost to change the boot screen. Just follow the steps I posted.

I forgot to add. Weather worked for me with the Pre-Eden version which I am using on my HTPC. For the Dharma version on my laptop, it shows a script error message or Internet connection required message.

I've managed to boot in XBMC directly using MMC / custom user interface...thanks

I now need to change the boot screen...will try it once I get home...If I get stuck I know where to find you , hope its alright !

I For the Dharma version on my laptop, it shows a script error message or Internet connection required message.

I clearly remember seeing dharma version while fiddling with weather settings and bingo I too get that script error message at the very end of the process just after where it shows XBMC 50%...does that mean I have downloaded and installed the Eden version in my system ?
