sam9s HTPC Project! powered by XBMC!!

I placed order for Rs 1636 for the following remote http://www.amazon.com/HP-REMOTE-CON...ef=dp_return_2?ie=UTF8&n=172282&s=electronics using iccworld. Thank you guys for all the suggestions.

One more thing I have installed the BD Writer in existing PC and then used AnyDVD to correct the region coding. However how do I make XBMC reconize the BDs and make them smoothly playable?

You can download xbmc eden as I quoted above. It will play bd iso. For region hack, I think all you need to do is start AnyDVD.

I'm using XBMC Eden nightly build and haven't experienced any problems. XBMC Eden will be released officially on tomorrow. Important features are HD audio support, blu-ray ISO support etc. I'm eagerly waiting for the fianl release.

Roadmap XBMC

Does this mean that the present 10.1 version does not support blu ray ISO and HD audio?

Hi Sam

Any try with the newly released XBMC Eden Beta..?

I will wait for stable release for EDEN for my HTPC, meanwhile I though will try it on my regular PC just to get the hang of the features it has to offer ...

I wonder how sam used it to play HD audio at present. In any case will I be able to play BR discs off the drive directly without any additional plugins with XBMC Eden?

I was/am using TMT5 from within XBMC, to play BD ISOs. I guess you did not see the youtube video I posted on the first page. It shows how I am playing BD ISOs using TMT5 from within XBMC ..... :)

sam in that case apart from BD Isos what do you use to play BD discs directly from within XBMC that supports HD Audio? same TMT5?

I dont use XBMC to play Bluray Discs ....I have a separate Panasonic BD60 Bluray player for that, but yes you can use TMT5 to play discs as well from within XBMC. The script need to have certain minor changes for that.

I use media player classic with ffdshow to play blu-ray ISOs. You can use some Windows Media center extenders to organize the movies and play them via MPC. It can emulate the same look and feel of XBMC.

XBMC Eden is playing BDs at this time but only in Win & but not in XP, where the BR drive is wrongly getting displayed as CD Drive. However the BD menus are noit coming in XBMC under win 7 wonder why.

yet to find that out since my sapphire GPU is yet to be delivered will probably arrive tomorrow, just cannot wait to fit it and test.

the GPU arrived, will post the pics, I installed and even upgraded the driver to the latest version. however I am notr able to get any output from HDMI, only from VGA. In sapphire control panel I do see that it is detecting the dual monitor (VGA is my TV and the other one is recognizaed as DENON_AVAMP since it is connection to my Denon AMP and also recommended setting is 1920x1080) however denon output to TV shows blank.

So far have tried shifting the input HDMI on Denon but no issues found, today will try directly connecting to TV or changing the HDMI cable to another working one.

Not sure if I need to configure anything in BIOS of my ASUS P5G41T-MLX mobo. VGA output from the same GPU is fine.

Have you connected vga to tv? If so connect only hdmi.

Yes it happened to me when I had connected the vga as well as hdmi to the tv. It did not detect any video/audio thru hdmi but the tv detected vga and the video/audio was shown. I disconnected the vga and voila the hdmi showed up.

Thanks.

I tried booting the PC when only the HDMI was connected to AVR and then AVR to TV (normal). No HDMI output. Are you suggesting to connect to TV directly? In that case will I only need to depend on the ARC from TV to AVR for Audio in HT?
