Samsung 64F8500 Plasma Discussion Thread

The Samsung installation guy will handover the wall mount. I got mine a week later.

Post a pic of the tv and unit if you can.

Sure, have not got the TV yet,will post pics once set up. As of now still no stock in Bangalore, been 2 weeks now, probably would take another week to get the same. It's good to hear that the Samsung guy that comes to setup the TV would carry the mount also.
 
Well, got a call from Girias Jayanagar today, and he is saying no tv in stock, saying it may take couple of weeks more for stock to come, that also he is not sure and he is not getting any revert from Samsung.

Now in a catch 22 situation, he billed me on 9th Nov for the TV nearing 3 weeks yet nothing in hand.

Well things get interesting. I went on the samsung website and complained to the CEO office. Got an email that they are unable to reach me a while back. Called back spoke to a lady named Shweta from customer experience program and she asked for the dealer details and i narrated my story to her. She asked me to wait for a while as she would talk to the dealer and would call back. Got a call within 10 minutes, she said that she had spoken to the dealer and the sales office, i would be getting a TV by Monday evening. If not she asked to give her a call on Tuesday morning.

Let's see what happens now, i blasted her saying i spent 2 lakhs on a TV and dealer is saying Samsung is not giving stock, what the hell is happening here.

Keeping my fingers crossed, let's see what happens and how many more follow ups it would take.

Your escalation to Samsung CEO office worked !
Dealers are blindly taking the customers for ride even after paying a hefty amount.

I think there is some catch here, as when i called ezone, he was saying the Diwali pricing is over and there is a 10k price increase in the TV. Also for most of the models be it 5500 or 8500 most of the places i called the rates had gone up and no one was giving a discount of a single rupee. They all said that till this weekend you will get the free BD player or airtrack with the tv depending on which model you buy, but on pricing there would not be any discount.

Devi in fact quoted me 76,000 for the 51f5500.

It's a wait and watch to see what happens, if i don't get my TV till Monday evening, i would be calling Samsung again on Tuesday morning and giving them my peace of mind. Also if i do get the TV i would inspect it thoroughly to ensure that its not a demo or an open box piece by following the checklist.

Great. Congratulations.
Love to see more closer shots. Especially the one showing paris tower in the night..just to get the feel of blacks. Thanks.
 
Hi All,

Few more closeup pics from Hugo. I watched it in 3D and it was great. I used my Philips Dolby/ DTS wireless headphones and 3D with Dolby wireless cans is an awesome experience.
