Got the extended warranty today along with the wall mounting: strange - the warranty in Pune at least is being done by " Reliance Retail" and I had to make out a cheque to them.

Thats not the samsung extended warranty, it is from Reliance. For Samsung extended warranty you need to call customer care and post registering your TV you can request for the same. They would pass it on to the extended warranty team and they would call you to verify the details and confirm the charges. Post which they would visit your place verify the documents and collect the cheque. The extended warranty certificate would come directly from Samsung after 3 to 4 weeks to your home.

Still have time, cancel the cheque, and call Samsung to get the extended warranty.

I did make a post on the charges for extended warranty by Samsung.

I wonder how does reliance come in the picture ref extended warranty. Its the company that extends the service.

Thanks Dushie : I called Samsung this morning and they denied they had a warranty tie up with Reliance or anyone.
When I questioned them on how their own service personnel were offering this warranty - it came out that, Reliance retail has taken over the service for certain areas, and therefore it appears that they are happily promoting their own "service and guarantee" as an "authorised Samsung Service Centre"
Anyway as I had to go to the bank and stop payment - I lodged a protest and cut the conversation short!

That's good news, as this is not the first time this has happened, earlier also someone had posted about picking up extended warranty from reliance for Samsung TV.

You can purchase extended warranty from Samsung directly now anytime before the 1 year of warranty gets over.

I'm looking to buy this TV asap, looking to buy it in amritsar. Anyone can suggest where can I get best deal on it?

After spending a month with this gigantic beast, my eyes have settled in and im officially loving the picture quality. The dynamic bright picture and the bright to dark contrast images are really shining on this panel. I adjusted my sofa length from the tv and its much easier on the eyes now, given the 64 inch size my room is small.

I have been watching lot of hd content from the media player and its just shining through, in the late evenings and night with less light in the room the panel just looks out of this world in terms of contrast and colors popping. Everything i type here is an understatement really need to see to believe, the other day my wife said this is the best tv picture quality she has ever seen, that means a lot coming from a woman, especially for someone used to a 50VT20 in the past.

Big shout out to aakashr who strongly recommended this tv in place of led for my bright room. Ill happily compromise for the amazing picture quality of this plasma. My VT20 is now doing secondary duty in the bed room.

I have moved from 50VT20 to 64F8500 too and all I can say is its a bliss.
I wonder why people cannot notice the (obvious) brightness. Side by side with VT20, with the same channels, the brightness hike is clearly visible even in home environment.

Agreed brightness is way better in the samsung, if i really had to nit pick, the vt20 has ever so slightly naturalness in the picture quality, this maybe also since its not as bright it looks a more natural, in samsung it looks more lively.

Anyone knows any dealer who'd source it to Punjab? I would like to get this TV since its going out of production. Also if anyone could share number of Bajaj Electronics in Hyderabad would appreciate it. I tried googling it numbers I found were either wrong numbers or non sales number.
