I am getting familiar with the smart interface. Browsing through that itself is so good.
Samsung has pushed the smartphone R&D in to the TV. The GUI, the smart remote and usage is all good.

Awesome dude.. Are u using smart apps on the tv? Which ones do u use?

Hello Everyone,

After a lot of confusion and waiting for the panasonic plasmas, finally on yesterday i have booked this one. The price which i got is 69.5K including transport and installation from reliance. Expecting delivery within 2 days. Will be posting the pics after setting up this thing.

Disheartening part is i had to shell extra 5K for 1yr additional warranty from Reliance Resq.

Could u guys pls suggest me, regarding the points mentioned below.

1. Settings for this model to have the best video exp. At present, I will be watching only Bluray rips movies from my external HD for few months.
2. Connecting this Panel with Yamaha YHT 196.
3. One of the forum member has mentioned that 196 doesn't decode HD audio. Could anyone pls describe in more specifically.

Dolby Digital & DTS are old multichannel audio that original DVDs were having.
Now in this High Definition Age, audio also gets better with picture. Like FHD VIDEO(1080p), HD Audio

Thus, HD AUDIO refers to DOLBY TRU HD or DTS-HD MA - which Blu-Rays now having.

But unfortunately, Yamaha 196 can't decode/receive/handle HD Audio formats. So if you intend to watch Blu-rays, then you will be missing the pristine audio clarity of blurays. But if you watch mostly ripped content having old audio like DD or DTS (which most of internet movies are having these days, even for BD rips), then you will be fine with Yamaha 196.

Hey! Hey! Don't buy extended warranty from Reliance. It will not help. Buy extended warranty from Samsung only. Contact Samsung Customer Care.

Yes, i think i posted this somewhere earlier also, that one has to buy extended warranty buy calling samsung customer care post purchase of TV. If possible cancel the reliance warranty and go directly for extended warranty with Samsung

@Guruji: Thnx a lot for detail explanation regarding the HD audio. I think 196 would meet my requirement as i would we watching movies / music from the d/l content only.

Is there any chance of cancellation of the same? If so how could i do that? Will Reliance will accept in cancellation?

If reliance charge the same amount as Samsung for additional 2yrs / 3yrs should i opt for reliance (or) should i still go with samsung

As mentioned by other members please go with samsung warranty.
It is Rs.3400 plus tax for 1yr extended warranty. If possible cancel the reliance warranty. Did you check with the reliance folks who will service the tv in case needed?

Ideally you should've gone for Samsung warranty, but now that you have bought I doubt Reliance will refund you. Anyhow try your luck. And from what I have heard Reliance warranty is also pretty good and they cover entire TV along with panel and also cover you for over voltage and short circuit damages.
So try for a refund but you needn't be worried even if they don't.

Hi Mastiguy,
Could you tell me reliance outlet which offered this price? I quoted this price to reliance digital outlet and he said he will match this price if another outlet has offered it. Also did you get this with Yamaha home theater/blu ray player?
After going through various posts on hifivision, i have finalised on this tv and will be purchasing it in a day or 2.

Ordered Videocon D2H HD. Will get it installed today. Awaiting to watch some HD channels !

Oh HD experience will bowl you over. Once you are used to HD pq, you'll not feel like watching SD again. So get an HD connection ASAP.

Just enquired about the reliance warranty... Appears to be more cleaner and value for money when compared to samsung extended warranty..
Except lightning and few other clauses it covers all other damages... Please enquire before committing.. Imo it is worth it

Am booking my F5500 today from Reliance Digital. Final price of Rs 71,900 plus two additional 3D glasses free (total 4), along with the Samsung freebie of BDP.

Haven't decided about extended warranty yet - whether to go for Samsung one or Reliance. Apparently in Mangalore, the service aspect of Samsung products is being handled by Reliance. Have been quoted nearly Rs 6900 for 2 years extended warranty inclusive of taxes.

I have been quoted 76500 (i.e. full suggested retail price)along with Home theatre YHT 196 by Yamaha and no samsung freebies. There is further 5% cashback offer on SBI credit card.
I have a home theater but thats 10 years old and am thinking of going with this offer (though this is basic model am thinking of using receiver from YHT 196 and speakers I own).

Croma is offering 5-6K discount. I am more tempted to go with reliance digital offer.

I have visited the reliance and informed them regarding the Warranty prices samsung is offering. They have mentioned that they will try to provide the same package with prices as samsung is offering or they will cancel the additional 1 yr warranty package which i have purchased from them.

@ashishbj: Its an Jackpot offer which u r getting dude. Could u pls tell me from which Reliance store did u got that offer. I am hoping Banjara Hills. Damn.....if i would have known abt the offer, i would have saved around 26K.

BTW i have purchased my Samsung TV from Reliance Digital Express, Nagole

The rs. 67500 price that I received was from bajaj electronics, sony electronics, reliance digital at chandanagar , Madinaguda area of hyderabad. This price is inclusive of the BD player from the manufacturer + the standard 1 year manufacturer warranty. But the price of Rs. 76500 inclusive of the Yamaha 196 quoted on this forum looks more tempting - which store in Hyderabad is offering this deal?

It was a nice deal but didn't go through. It was Delhi-NCR area. They are saying that home theatre is out of stock and took one day to confirm it is not available anywhere.
Next best deal is what rajendra_mba2002 got. Outlet here is ready to match that if I can provide invoice.

These days all gives invoice at the original price or the price the Manufacturer suggests. They are not allowed under-cutting of prices, though it's a open secret that almost all do it. I bought mine for 66k but my invoice was of 76k. Same with my fridge, I bought for some 26K, the invoice says 32K.
