Hi friends,

I'm looking to purchase the F5500 in Mumbai. Any ideas or leads where I can purchase this TV?

Well, it's 2 months now that we have this TV and we're thrilled.

Been watching the following:
-HD channels in TataSky HD. These are awesome.
-Non-HD channels in TataSky. These are sub-par, as the large TV makes the low resolution apparent, but tolerable.
-Youtube using the inbuilt smart app. We have a 25 Mbps internet line and this is also awesome for watching music videos. Also the pairing with Youtube on smartphone\ipad makes it a very usable experience (youtube.com\pair).
-Mahabharat (mostly the spouse) using the in-built browser and sundry links like apnatv.
-Screen mirroring from the Samsung Note2 to see on screen whatever is on the phone - this is great for watching photos and videos that were captured on the smartphone. Also good for sharing with the family, whatever interesting you happened to be doing on the phone (something on facebook?). I even read email on the TV screen once!

Also acquired an LG BP 420 Blu Ray 3D player from amazon and 4 pairs extra 3D glasses from ebay (2 came with the TV). Acquired 3D titles from Commercial Street in Bangalore. This was an amazing experience. Loved Avatar and Gravity the most. Need to find the 3D movie thread on this forum and subscribe!

All in all, we are just thrilled with the price-picture-package. And even subsequent trips to electronics stores and looks at other models haven't made any change. 0% buyers remorse!

Next, need a decent sound system to match this with. I do have a SONY mini-hifi. Not sure whether I should connect up with that (that has component and optical input only, no digital) or buy anything new. Budget upto 20k only - any suggestions?

Hi ..if u can able to extend ur Budget upto ~23-25k u can get yamaha YHT 196 (a decent budget HTIB package)but in this u may miss the latest audio decoder DTS HDMA & Dolby True HD..

Hi Just got the 51 F5500. Need help on the ARC connection.
My Videocon DTH is connected to the TV and I have an HDMI cable running from the TV ARC input to my Yamaha AVR ARC. I've also connected my AC Ryan media player to the AVR. While I get media player sound from my AVR, I'm unable to get audio from my DTH onto the AVR.
Can some one help?

Still now I didn't got my Wifi connections ..hence I could not able to gel the TV remote as an universal remote to use my Videocon DTH connections.Kindly let me know without wifi..can I able to do so..coz the TV demo technician told me that it will work only after getting WiFi/net connections..
I shall post my doubts if any in the near future..

My WiFi connection setup was very simple, the WiFi was enabled in TV, it detected the Router name, and I entered the password. No other options/setting required.

If you have the D2H HD white remote (RF), then the samsung remote would not work with that. Basically, the samsung remote has IR output, which it configures for the other IR remote devices. But as D2H is RF, this does not work.

There is no dependence on the Internet/WiFi connectivity. Not sure whether the technician knew what he was talking about.

Unfortunately I'm having the white remote ,the technican told me when Wifi is connected I shall receive an code by mail from samsung which I need to enter in the same..to use as an Universal remote ..Ok as u told the RF & IR do not match then i need to use the remote seperately ...Thanks for the info...

I hope they deliver it swiftly!

I have the hathway cable without hd..this being my first hdtv, i wanna know if i can upgrade to hd hathway or is tatasky etc are the best?
i have the sd-tatasky box as i used to use it earlier but shifted to hathway later...i just might have to pay the suspension fee and upgrade-to-hd fee if you guys think tatasky offers better hd than local hathway!

Anyone facing IR issue on this tv? I'm seeing some HD channel logos and airtel logo and some time destop wallpaper (when I connect my pc vie HDMI) in dark when all light are off.

Keep playing break-in slides everyday when you're not doing anything. Keep all the settings low for the first 200 hours.

As mentioned by an esteemed member, use break in slides and keep settings at minimum for the first 100 - 200 hours. It is recommended to avoid channel logos on screen for long durations, by occasional zooming in and out, if possible. Also make sure its a fresh item from stock and not a demo or a repackaged refurbished product using the code to access service menu and noting he number of hours of use on the panel.

I m still going through all the answers on this forum for the service menu, haven't found it though I remember reading about it sometime ago. I m hoping our esteemed members can share some information about the same before i get to the info.
