Samsung UA40D5000 LED TV

^
maybe my cfl is angled slightly better... lolz... anyways I cant see it reflection and didnt need to re-position it... just my luck, I presume...

I've a large balcony in front of my LED.
I don't see reflection from the screen part. But there is some reflection from the black border surrounding the screen.
Compared to my earlier CRT, I see very noticeable change in this aspect.

Guys im having a problem ,
When i play a movie from USB ( MKV File ) , 720p , i feel like the video isnt real , as if it was shoot with a Handy Camera , (Frame Rate is alittle higher than usual movies )
I dunt know why this is happening on the Sammy LEDs ...i've tried C5000,C6000 ,

Is it related to 100Hz ? Auto Motion Plus ?

Disable the 100hz AMP.

I Dotn have such problem but how can you disable the 100hz AMP? it that the setting LED motion plus -> YeS/NO?
and do you know why that setting effects the screen brightness?

The AMP is only present in series 6 and above.
The LED motion plus is backlight scanning which boosts motion resolution at the cost of brightness, but it has ample brightness .

Merhaba figment,

I also buyed that Tv last month. Unlike you I have noticed very disturbant clouding esp. at night vision. When the lights are switched off, visual torture begins in my living room. I'm in a struggle with the authorized maintenance service at the moment and I could not convince them so far. They insist on telling me that the clouding is in acceptable limits. What I'm curious about is did you really not notice any clouding at night in deed? If so, I'll take the advantage to sue them. Thanx a lot for your reply. Kendine iyi bak.

I didnt find any Ghosting issues even at Night. The Clairity is really Good even while watching movies from USB.

Try fiddling with the settings. Shadow detail one in Advance settings. I have posted my settings in this thread plz check.

So when they say clear motion rate 100hz what is that supposed to mean? will there be substantial ghosting of images when fast paced movie or sports is run.

The samsung has LED motion plus which is backlight scanning, this is supposed to reduce blur.
No idea about how the companies calculate 100hz 200hz etc it varies from company to company.

6 series is one step up from 5 series; C series is 2010 model, D is 2011; picture quality wise there might be slight improvement in 6 series...

Have UA37D5000 LED. Just got it, 4 days ago.

I have the same clouding when watching dark scenes. But i have noticed another thing! The picture is sharpening and blurring for 2/3 sec continuously. This is especially noticeable when watching football! Grass on the field is moving or so. Tried it on 2 different sources same thing. I played some HD samples from USB and i think that on HD is OK!

Guys, just bought Samsung UA40D5000 few days ago. An Upgrade from an old Flat Screen TV (2003).
Anyway, how do you set 100Hz in UA40D5000. My default setting was @50Hz.
Appreciate some guidance.
