Thanks Srini. Yes it is indeed around 6/7 feet distance, my room is 100 sq ft. The floor standers are a bit overpowering for the room, but with the placement of the sub on the right side that's improved a lot.previously they were next to the right speaker

Mind you this is only for 5.1.. for music i have the bookshelfs.

And no treatment so far for the room.

Yep thanks Sachin for posting your real time experience. Have you tested without sub, how you felt the bass(leave the lower freq)

Hi Srini. if your question is if i can do without a sub, no actually i had only the 2 floorstanders initially and slowly i upgraded with the sub and the surrounds. It is does give the punch which the floortanders alone cannot.
