I wanted to start it long back, but was lazy to do it since not many were having this model. Please change the title to W900A/950A Users Thread.

Btw, just to break the myth many believe that only Sony mobiles can be mirrored in a SonyTV, I am uploading pics of mirroring my Xiaomi MI3 in my 950A

Quoting the following from here on picture quality. Sony XBR-65X900A Review - 65 inch 4K TV UHD (XBR65X900A)

This is one of the best pictures on the market as of this writing probably the best if you ignore side angle viewing. We thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this TV and I was surprised how good the picture is after having seen it first at CES. Even after calibrating it away from the over-hyped preset settings, it displays a realism and natural picture which is only equaled by the Sony W900A. The reason for the similarity between the two is the two new technologies included in them, the Triluminous Display, and the X-Reality Pro enging Sony's two best ever display technologies. The Triluminous display really does perform as promised in presenting truer colors, especially reds, and greens which tend to be more difficult

This just once again proves that last year W950A / W900A is still beating all the Full HD flagships of 2014 including the ones from its own Sony stable.

I tried to screen mirror s5 on W950B after doing hard reset on my phone but still not able to do screen mirroring. Though am able to share content videos/ photos/ Audio through DLNA easily.
The TV recognizes my cell same is with the cell. but after starting screen mirroring there is an error message on my phone that failed to do screen mirroring.

Remove the paired device ID from your TV and create a new connection once again. That is what I do when I get "screen mirroring failed" message. Its a little cumbersome and not so friendly. Some times I need 4-5 tries and 10 minutes of time to get connected and sometime it just Zaps and gets connected.

Have to live with it because of the second to none picture quality it offers in LED Tv. I also use vuze from laptop and use it as a wireless mediaplayer. Its really good from a torrent download application.

Hi guys. Have you bought the extended warranty for this TV? I just received a sms saying there's some ongoing "Dhamaka offer" on a 2 year extended warranty. Wondering whether I should go for it.

^ Definitely, you should opt for extended warranty. It is strongly advisable to have a peace of mind till the next 3years.

And also you are getting some offer on this. Share the details here (cost, etc) for the benefit of others.

Guys, received a new firmware update yesterday. Anybody else updated the firmware for the 950A ?

Guys what is the difference between Sony 50W900B and 50W800B ? Is 900B worth the extra cost ? And which tv would be better LG 50LB6500 or Sony 50W800B/900B ?

W900B has triluminos display and local dimming

I had seen both W900B and W800B in showroom but both looked dull in front of W950A

W950A has punchy colour and deep blacks, HD looks beyond awesome :)

I would suggest you to go for W950A if you find it in stock

Yes it's recommended to buy extended warranty for peace of mind

Please share if any offer going on, I too want to extend the warranty

900B has the IPS panel made by LG and 800B has VA panel. 900B doesn't justify the extra cost in my opinion. Try the Samsung F8000(if available) and H7000 too. They are the next best when compared to 950A. Then you can check for 800B.

unfortunately, I had totally skipped the LG lineup when testing because all were having IPS panel and I just don't like it at all.

Yes I too received an update and updated it

Use Multiquote option like this ;-)

Btw, the 950A is no more available and its still king of Full HD panels even though it doesn't go as deep black as the HX850, it produces colours in the most accurate way. If it does, then people are indeed lucky in my opinion.

Not only it has punchy colours, it reproduces colour very accurately in my opinion once you come to Cinema mode. The show room mode is just too flashy but.

Hi guys. I did receive a message that there was an ongoing offer but on calling the local Sony service center I was informed that extending the warranty on my 55W950A for 2 years would set me back by a whopping 25,000 bucks(which is the regular price). Needless to say, I decided to wait for now. I still have 6 months left on the initial 1 year warranty.
