Hi Guys,

Need help! Can anyone please advise what kind of Plasma I can buy for around 40K?

Thanks in advance!

At that price the best plasma is 43F4900, can't think of any other tv. You can't beat the price vs performance on this set.

Question to 64F8500 owners...How have you guys installed the TV? have you wall mounted it (Is it even possible to wall mount it safely)? or kept on a table..

Another thing that caught my eye was 'Power Consumption (Max)-665 watts'. Man that does sound like its a lot.. moving from 29 inch CRT to 64F8500 plasma, asuming TV usage of 8 hours per day... any idea how much electricity it would cost?

Yes power consumption is quite something for the 64 incher which is what kept me from going for it. Wish 51" had been available in India.

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

Max consumption figures is not a true indicator. The figure of 664W or whatever is only in full white screen mode. The typical consumption will be more like 50% of that. Still quite a lot but the benefits and joy far outweigh the cost of power. After all when you buy an S class Mercedes or BMW 7 series, you wouldn't ask "kitna deti hai?"

Spoke to a dealer today for 50ST60. He checked with his contact in Panasonic and said that 50ST50 is available. Asking price was Rs. 1.1 lac.
The Panasonic guy had no information about 50ST60 and it was not in the price list provided to my dealer.

Strange to find ST50 back in stock at this stage.

Hahaha very true.. but like the Maruti Ad showed sometime back... We Indians can never stop asking the question, 'Kitna Deti hai?':ohyeah:

One can just grab the st50 if it is in stock. No need at all to think twice.

I am not sure if I am missing some threads or not but I could find there is also HD ready 2013 model from panasonic (x60). Do you have any update on this. Will it be available in India? any expected price? I wish there should be some option for the budget customers. I have 50X50 and pretty happy with it. One of my friend is looking for a new television and waiting for the new model to launch. We went to one of the showrooms in Kolkata and found that 42UT30 (2010-11 model)is displayed and it is priced 40K. Please suggest whether one should wait for the new model or grab the one available in discount?

Well, now that we are so close to get the ST60 here in India, it perhaps makes sense to wait for a few more days.

In addition, the price of ST50 is much higher that the last sale that I had heard (91K-92K). At 1.1 lac, I think the TV is expensive. The same dealer had offered me GT50 for 1.0 lac, but then he was not able to arrange it for me even after confirming availability with Panasonic.

So, I would buy ST50 if it is around 90-95K and ST60 if it is around 100-105K maximum.

I checked with one of the kolkata dealer (great eastern appliances - Techno city) and the sales man confirmed MOP for S60 would be around 80K at kolkata and should be available around July.

^Here in Pune S60 is already in stock. If I recollect the price quoted was around Rs. 84K. This can be negotiated to Rs. 80K for sure.

Hi Every one I am new to your excellent thread. :clapping:
I am also waiting for sammy 51f8500 if they might release till diwali.
otherwisw will move to 51f500 or 46f6800 LED.
But any one having idea for making samusung 51f5500 screen less reflective with help of any anti glare coating or film or guard as it is available on amazon usa site?

Does anyone in the forum, know of a place in Bangalore, where 64F8500 is on display? I would love to see it in real flesh,,
