Ok...question:
Who wants to team up to buy a Panasonic plasma in Pune?

Models: 50ST50 and 50ST60 are on my list. 40GT50 is also available as far as I know.

By Saturday ST60 would be in brand shops. ST50 is already available.

Edit: Mumbai guys can also participate, but you need to arrange for your own transport to take the TV back home.

You can see it in Samsung brandshop in Forum Mall Koramangala.

However carry some good HD content with you in USB drive. Last time I went there they did not have any real HD/demo content available to play. All that was available was some clips of Indian (so called) HD channels, probably 720p max.

Also the TV is not mounted properly and shows the light filter effect if you are not seated properly (watching it too close at vertical angles). Once seated properly, the TV looks damn good. No hissing sound. SD was very watchable even at that size. But I could not judge HD/3D performance due to lack of demo content.

Girias where I have placed the order has still not confirmed when I will get the TV... they continue to say that it will take 15 days more.. :mad:

I have been chasing my Pana contact since yesterday. He is not picking up his phone.
I went to the brandshop this afternoon. They have no information whatsoever.

50S60 was quoted at 87K.
 
I am in Pune and am interested in the 50ST60 or 50GT60. But looks like these models would be available only in Aug/Sep 2013. That's what the Panasonic helpdesk has told me.
I am ready to buy the model as soon as it is available..

I don't know how much of that is true. The RM for Pune said that stock is in the warehouse.

Contact local dealers also. Let's hear what they say.

Since vakaria has given details of how many ST60 TV sets have been imported, it is quite likely that there will be very few pieces per dealer given. That is unlikely to leave much space for bargaining unfortunately.
 
I have checked with some Noida Dealers , they are expecting to come at the time of Diwali ..more or less they are clueless as of now .
 
Just had a talk with Panasonic Sales Head Office. Here's what they have to say:

1) 2013 Plasma Models are in their warehouse and will be shipped to distributors in next 2 week

2) Panasonic website will be updated in next 2 weeks to display new models and their prices.

3)Panasonic India will sell ST60, GT60 and VT60 (plus some other models). No ZT65 for India as it is very expensive.

So there are 30 pieces in the entire country.

In contrast, Sony just imported more than 100 units of KD-65X9004A which is a 4K LED and costs Rs. 4 lacs in India. This is much more expensive than the 50" plasmas which Panasonic things Indians cannot buy.
