Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

So all you guys will be the first owners of st60 in India...

Ok.. So got the TV delivered at 9 PM.
Played around with the settings.
Setup wifi
System was already updated.
Tried a pen drive and a 1 TB hard disk. Hard disk takes quite a while to load. Title view is bad. I need to see if there is a List view.

Intelligent Frame Creation was Max by default - I could experience 'soap opera' effect for the first time. I turned it off, but I think setting it to Min is best suited for my eyes.

I don't have HD DTH and SD does not look that good. So upgrade is necessary.

Tried several HD movies from hard disk, they all get played nicely.

More stuff later.

the only issue I see with ST60 is the input lag. I have both Xbox and PS3 and high input lag will have bad gaming experience. Price and screen size is almost same

I have to decide between Panasonic 50ST60 and Sony 47W950. 50VT60 would be too expensive. Any suggestion?

There is no 50VT60 and hence the question does not arise. I have tries gaming on my ST50, only for a short while and with a PS2 and PC. I don't know what input lag you are talking about cause I didn't feel any.

VT60 will be launched in India soon (as per panasonic sales, dont know the screen sizes). Though I believe it cost close to 2L

Input lag occur due to video processing and is most evident when you play video games such as Cars races/First person shooter games such as Modern warfare 3 or Call of duty. Commands issued from the gaming controller are typically reflected after a lag of 40-50 ms. Does your commands on the game pad are immediately reflected on the scree?

Just to give to comparison, good old CRT had 0 ms lag.
Sony W9 has a lag of 10-15ms (best for any modern LED/Plasma TV).
ST60 has 50-60 ms lag even in games mode where most of the video processing is turned off. This is what online reviews have posted.

^^^VT60, if at all it makes it to India(???), will be in 65" only.

DO you guys experience any crosstalk or ghosting when watching 3D movies ? Coz I'm experiencing some.

I don't see any input lag when playing games on PS3 or PC.
