As the world celebrates 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, i recollect one movie which depicts what would have been life in East Germany before the fall of the wall. This is a German movie and highly recommended. This will figure as one of my top ten movies.

Watched Automata disappointed expected lot while watching but it came out as waste of time.no storyline , was like watching B grade movies. :mad:
 
Interstellar (2014) - IMDb

Saw it in the local IMAX.

All the hype around the movie is worth it and Nolan rarely disappoints.

The movie has a slow buildup but it does keep you on the edge.

Overall, I would rate it a 8.5/10. Found the end a bid hard to digest although a very interesting premise.

Definitely worth seeing it in an IMAX and so glad its not on 3d.

The Equalizer
It's a Denzel Washington movie. That says it all. Not a single dull moment. He is everywhere in it as usual. Top class acting. Story isn't nothing new but the presentation is neat. A good watch.
Some killings in the movie is a bit gore so I won't advise to watch it while eating food or stuff.

Watched two Hindi movies both of which I like - Bang Bang and Raja Natwarlal.

Bang Bang is a good entertainer and don't look for any meaning or sense. Enjoy every movement of the enthralling locales and the great action.

Raja Natwarlal could have been done done a little better. Even then it has a good story and well executed. Some of the scenes are improbable, but then who cares?

watched a cpl of movies in last few days..

lucy : good movie.. story and script is well written however with few goof ups. nothing out of the box.. worth a watch however limitless was a far better movie on same topic..

guardians of the galaxy : starting was good but movie became lousy by the end and climax was boring... going by the name i was expecting transformers or big level sci-fi movie.. disappointed.

chef : the best of the movie.. super good movie.. funny , pretty tight and not slow..

bang bang : lousy 100% xerox copy paste of knight and day.. even the dailogues... sad that bollywood copies everthing.. go watch knight and day.. forget bout bang bang... no dont watch..

rise of the planet of the apes : given the initial series. this one did not live upto the hype..


expendebles 3 : looks like they just wanted to make another part and stretched the story. however pretty watchable. action is good.

Fury is a typical war movie. Has shades of Saving Private Ryan.
The end is predictable and you know what is going to happen but the journey to that end is good. Brilliant acting by Brad Pitt.
Nothing extraordinary about the movie though. Decent watch. I'd rate it 7.5/10
 
Saw "Cloud Atlas" this weekend. Couldn't even reach the end.
What is that movie all about? The writing seems to be all over the place.
Dunno if watching it till the end would have cleared it a bit.

Any others who have seen it?

PS: The Fountain was another such movie all over the place.

This is not a copy. It is an official licensed remake of Knight & Day.

All were good. specially Bitter Moon and Red Dragon.
 
Saw Exodus this weekend.
Mixed feelings. Nothing great. Great panoramic scenes; good acting by Bale. But the movie seemed implausible after the first half. And the same old fight for throne kinda stuff.
Still a decent watch for Bale's fans! :)
 
Just watched "The Secret life of Walter Mitty " ,Its A Drama+ Fantasy story.

The OST of the film was fabulous and everywhere the Guitars was adding up some value to the screen.If you ask me its not a best Movie, same time the screen play was so wide for a simple story line.

There is some message in the story which I loved .Also felt that,Thank god i dint waste my time watching this movie, since there is something to carry with.

Never felt boring even though the next scene was almost predictable.
 
i saw the following this week

how to train your dragon 2:4/5, its good, and they have lent the originality that is usually missing from sequels without being too detached from the original, a rare feat, but the end is a tad predictable, good fun nonetheless

about time:4/5, its really difficult to pull off the make believe world of time travel along with the constant of mortality, however i do find that movies coming from england are able to pull them off convincingly, i really liked this movie

22 jump street:2/5, wouldn't recommend this to anyone, missing the quirky sense of humor with which the original was made

jack ryan shadown recruit: 2/5, an uninteresting story line, and bad directing really does it in, classic example where the film fails the actors
