Just in case anyone is wondering, I am still using the Tripath TP20 as my only stereo amplifier and I am very happy! I've changed speakers and source since then, but the Topping remains in place, and doesn't look like being dislodged. The power supply broke a few months ago, but I just popped over the local electronics store and bought a 12V, 5A PSU and i was back in action in no time

Most likely you will get the amp without having to pay any customs duty. The eBay sellers usually mark international purchases as a gift and/or declare a lower value for the item (my TP20 was declared as $40), so the customs usually clear it without any hassle. Not worth their time & effort for such small item.

Even if they do decide to levy a duty, it is usually between Rs 400 - 600 and it will be collected by the postman at the time of delivery. You will not have to personally face any customs person for this small purchase.

Well, you are bound to pay customs, I got my tp 20 with 21% customs. Customs guys once they they figure out its an amp. So you can't get away. Mine was marked gift, but still.

Answer to 2nd query ... you need to check on the impedance too ... higher the better ... 8 ohm required.
Why not read the thread complete ... all your ifs-and-buts would get addressed. Laziness ..

Just to respond quickly to doors666 and gruby, my original power supply was also 5A, so I there's no upgrade here at all.

to grubyhalo, i'm still using the CD63SE - Odyssey Epiphony setup. Not really thinking about any upgrades.

Uff some people have pushed u for control 1's . topping has ample amount of power ,can drive pretty decent BSs (even KEF Q300)and never waste an amp for wall mounted party type speakers ..

plastic resonance , 70Hz cut off , polycone drivers ..god save us ! good for evening coffee in garden not for dedicated setup.

im considering them too for my Dayton Audio DTA 1 running off of TP2024. how would you rate the CA s30 then? what are the other options close to this one in budget???

JBL control 1 was too bright for my taste and there was no low end there. have never heard CS30. i think Norge offerings will be good .

I am not audiophile, based on the thread I chosen the combo.

The bass & treble is not at my taste. (I am using my ONIDA CDR or Asus O Play Mini as Transport. That might be the reason ?)

Still I am enjoying the music it plays clearly and I am not getting irritated of continous play as my old Creative did.
