Does this TV (u7980) support bluetooth headphones? If yes, any recommendations?
Yes, it has Bluetooth. Regarding the version, the TV it's based on is H8F and that had Bluetooth 5.0, so this also should have 5.0. In my experience, Bluetooth works rather well with headphones. I don't think it passes AptX or LDAC to my headphones, but SBC isn't that bad.Does this TV (u7980) support bluetooth headphones?
I have Sony WH-1000XM3. Highly recommend those to anyone looking for a Bluetooth headphone. When I went to offices, it canceled out all outside noise, is amazing on flights and has pretty good sound and build quality. If you have slightly higher budget, go for WH-1000XM4. They have better mics and multi-device switching support. If yes, any recommendations?
I believe HDMI4 is lower bitrate than HDMI 1,2, and 3. And even among 1, 2 and 3 1 is the only one which can do 3840x2160 12-bit 60Hz with HDCP 2.2. For HDMI 2 and 3 I could only do HDCP 2.2 with HDMI mode set to standard.when i connect through HDMI4 some times i can able to see HDR10,Dolby Vision ,UHD with 3840*2160p. But HDMI1 ARC it is always Dolby Vision. Why the difference. BTW i watched Mirzapur it was mind blowing in UHD i never seen any content in UHD Never before like this.
Turn the TV off and on again?Any idea how to kill an application, reset app etc. on Alvidaa OS?
My Netflix has gone bad and it is not responding. Switching app doesn't help.
Simple on/off from remote didn't work (didn't want to completely power off the tv).I believe HDMI4 is lower bitrate than HDMI 1,2, and 3. If you can, put firestick 4k in HDMI 1. However, if you have an ARC cable plugged in that, put it in HDMI 2 or 3 and set HDMI mode to standard from enhanced.

I would as a TV owner however check the contents of the box tho. I mean, its right in front of you. But guess he was too excited to do thatInstaller is supposed to know the box contents. After all he is installing 100s of Tvs.
If he is lying through the teeth, anyone can become an idiot.
Buyer beware.
Regarding the audio lag, go to your sound option and turn lypsync from 3 to 0. Should fix it.Simple on/off from remote didn't work (didn't want to completely power off the tv).
I think it was bug with their Netflix App. In the search if when I typed 4K it was giving some error and none of the remote keys were responding. There was a moment before that error showed up, I was able to hit back in that small duration and it is ok now
I think ordering 4K firestick wasn't a bad decision lol
I am ok with the performance of PrimeVideo, Netflix and YouTube app in general but I can see some lag in the audio when connected to AVR (which probably is some sync issue).
In fast paced sequences sometimes performance is not optimal. YouTube 4K videos also sometime stutter. Doesn't look a deal breaker to me though.
All 4 ports can do 4k 60. However, HDCP 2.2 with 4k 60 12-bit can only be done on HDMI1.Thanks but HDMI4 written with 4k 60Hz in back side. so i thought that is the correct one for ULTRA HD. But which is best Dolby Vision or HDR10.

It's 56, 7 horizontal x 8 vertical. I've counted them myself and was surprised as I was expecting 8 horizontal x 7 vertical.@lightgamer : Any clue on the number of dimming zones in the 55 U79?
Mine done last day @ kochi.. installation guy didn't asked for any such charges "wall mounted .. he was gentle though ( Jeeves )Anyone who ordered U79 from Flipkart, is wall mount not included as part of the package?
Are we supported to pay extra for it?
Friend just told me that the Install guy charged him for it. Mine is yet to arrive and hence couldn't confirm.
Yup, mine arrived and installed today. Had no additional charges. Looks like my friend was duped by the install guy.Mine done last day @ kochi.. installation guy didn't asked for any such charges "wall mounted .. he was gentle though ( Jeeves )
I do have a question regarding a few of these settings. You have firestick 4k, right. Just use search the app on the leftmost tab and install it. It works great.
Let me share the final settings I'm using. These are a bit different from the ones I shared before, but mostly the same:
As before, there are 3 modes: SDR, HDR and Sports. Detailed reasoning can be found in this comment from prior
Let me go setting by setting:
Apply picture settings: All sources.
Backlight: SDR to 90, HDR to 100, Sports to 100. For a darker room, reduce as per your comfort in SDR or sports mode.
Local dimming: SDR high, HDR high, sports low.
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 45 for SDR, 50 for HDR and 50 for sports.
Sharpness: 0
Colour saturation: 50 for HDR, 47 for SDR and 50 for Sports.
Adaptive contrast: off
Ultra-smooth motion: off for SDR, off for HDR, judder reduction 10 and blur reduction 1 for sports.
Noise reduction/MPEG noise reduction: low
White balance: The most important setting. Standard with -1 offset to blue in Expert settings>white balance. You can also try putting -1 to green if it improves the white point to your eye. In my case, it did with DV and HDR mode.
Expert settings: Gamma to 2.4 in SDR and Sports.
Let me know how these look for you, or if you've found better settings than these. I'd love to check those out.
BTW, for Dolby Vision, just use the Dolby Vision bright mode. You can set the white balance just like the previous modes (standard with -1 offset to blue, and maybe green).
