The weekend's listening has been mostly rock:

1) Rod Stewart - Tonight I'm Yours
2) Genesis - Invisible Touch
3) Dire Straits - Love Over Gold

That triggered me to dig out my Rod Stewart!!

Its almost an year, since I heard him singing in my hall room.

Rod Stewart has mellowed from being the wild rocker, but he has certainly matured well:)

You must try his The Great American Songbook series (I think there are Vol I to V, on CD).

But my all-time fav is Downtown Train - Selections from the Storyteller Anthology. The Killing of Georgie, Part I and II is a heart-rending story.

This a 60's American satirical music album of Tom Lehrer accompanied in piano.

At home, for a full 40minutes, he made every one laugh non-stop; to an extent, even my 10 year old kid!!

Interesting to know, he was an accomplished mathematician by profession, and could feel its influence in his lyrics..

An U.S pressing with good S.Q.

S.O.S !!! If any one has a second copy of his albums,I would like to buy..

Spinning Glenn Frey's No Fun Aloud. Intitially (20 odd years ago) I hated his guts for daring to use a sax part as being un-rock and un-country (on The One You Love) but I have come around to accepting the sax as a legit instrument in any genre.

Has anyone heard his version of Highway 66? He's one hell of a dancer!

Another Rod Stewart album - Foolish Behaviour. The highlight track is of course Passion. BTW, my copy has a 3' x 2' Rod Stewart poster. The reverse is a collage of newspaper cuttings of the artist and photos of the band indulging in mostly foolish and antisocial behaviour.:)

Glen is one my all time favorite, since early 90s..

Getting tempted to see his album cover art!!..If time permits, it would be nice, if you could upload a click;please :)

Listening to some old fashioned R&B - Gladys Knight & The Pips - Still Together. The recording is excellent.

oh, that's interesting, this is the first time I've come across work from Glenn being mentioned, outside of his work with The Eagles.

He had a huge solo hit with The Heat Is On (Beverly Hills Cop OST). Wikipedia says he had 12 Billboard Top 100 hits in his solo capacity.

BTW, the other lead vocalist of Eagles, Don Henley also had a hugely successful solo career. His album The End of the Innocence spawned some great tracks like New York Minute and The Last Worthless Evening. And his hairstyle on the cover of that album spawned a thousand imitations :) His Boys of Summer from another album was also a chart topper.

If my memory serves right, it was 2003 , I think, I heard him singing last.

I had 2 of Don Henleys album in tape and my favorite one was Building the Perfect Beast. All songs of the albums were equally good in its own way, my favorite was A-Month-of-Sundays & used to play the tape repeatedly for hours and hours on weekends.

once tapes had gone, I haven't tried listening him in CD/MP3 and almost forgotten him until I read this yesterday. And this morning I tuned to an internet radio station and listened the full album, which refreshed my decade old memories

I'm not sure if I would get a chance to hear him singing in Vinyls :(

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
