Vinyl I am listening to...

Great!

Btw how does the reissue sound.

Compared to my other floyd vinyls, there is an 1.2837 % improvement in the sound stage and 0.0087% decrease in the channel separation . :)

May be,, I need to put it under a mass spectroscope to check the quality of the vinyl's raw material .

Jokes apart ..

Not bad and worth the money!!

.................

Sounds much better than my previous copies, but again who knows if those were original or counterfeit. At least now I have the confirmed original version.

Also this two records have the full uncut versions of the songs which were not available on vinyl previously except Korean and Russian double album releases. But those were selling at a premium on the bay.

Did anyone go for the box set? Impression?

Regards

Gents - What a magical session I am having right now. Unboxed division bell and truly magical on the 401 and 1200.

For all the pundits who think can write off the 1200, you are wrong! This player is honestly mesmerising. One of the most prolific players of all time. Forget all the technical jargons and just sit back and you will really enjoy this deck. Totally in love with 1200s.

Now the 401....phew, you gotta be here to experience it!!

Long Live Vinyl, for it has really changed my musical experience time and again.....everlasting to be!!

I don't have the record so I listened to the Division Bell on CD last night. What a lovely album. I've been listening to it ever since I got it back in the 1990s.

By the way RP, if my 401 and L75 experience is not to my liking. Then I am planning to revert back to Technics. Probably the SP25 or the SL 1210.

I have a strong feeling you will love the 401. Its just a matter of the Plinth, Arm and Cart pairing well and maybe a good phonostage. Before your first play, try and get all alignments done accurately.

I've never heard the L75 but with such rave reviews and impressions, I have a feeling it will be a killer too.

If you ever get a good deal for a 1200/1210, just pick it up. We both are technics fans and honestly you will not regret this deck in stock condition. A no nonsense player and a work horse.

Cheers...

You are a hands-on guy so you will definitely be able bring about improvements in case you find either of them lacking in some way. Both the TTs are great TTs, so the chances of not liking them should be quite low. Of course there could be minor niggles which you can always iron out. In fact that's one aspect of this journey can - resolving problems with our own two hands.

This post reminded me of something..Going off topic here..

Had a listening session at RP's place few weeks ago. Compared the 401 and 1200 by playing the same set of LPs on both. Really enjoyed it! The 401 had more detail and was a little punch-ier than the 1200 but I personally loved em both! Thanks for having me RP. Would love to have more such listening sessions!

I dont know if it blasphemy to mention it in this thread but the only copy of Division Bell with me is a cassette tape.

I had recorded it way back in 90's from a European pressing. The hardware used were Sonodyne DD turntable and my Nak 600 deck. The owner of the LP had refused to lend it to me for recording so I had to carry my deck to his home to do the needful. Thankfully he relented to use my own phonostage for direct hook up to the Nak. Ehh...the perils of dealing with eccentric Bawa's

The tape still sounds great and has survived years of being played in cars, etc. If it ever wears out I may consider an alternative.

I have always listened to hits compilations of Led Zeppelin and enjoyed them. However I must say, sitting through these 3 LPs was a pain indeed. Average pressings and music not to my taste. However I'm keeping these LPs carefully because they are by Led Zeppelin. In my opinion, Deep Purple was miles ahead of Zeppelin and are the true fathers of Heavy Metal.

Are these recent represses? Btw IMO those 2 albums are pure classics :)

My pleasure having you over mate. It was a good jam session. Loved your set of records that you brought over.

With FM Peace_Sells's records, I would assume that you had a lot of head-banging to do. Would have loved to join.

Hee hee yes we did. He also brought along some very nice music that I really liked. The thing with Pease_Sells is, he does a lot of research and only then picks what he is only specifically looking for from across the world. Nice to have a vinyl collection of only cherry picked albums :).

Actually..I got mostly 'meditative' and 'chilled out sounding' records :ohyeah: Although we did enjoy playing Maiden's Powerslave ;) (which sounded a lot more impressive on the 401!)

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
