Today it was these two classic LPs. Though Mohd Rafi sang only one song for Waqt, “Waqt se din aur raat”, it was a classic. The covers of both these LP are equally interesting. You can see Mohd Rafi’s Chevrolet Impala in the background. This was the favourite car of our film personalities in the 60’s! The cover of Waqt is a painting depicting the stars, including Raaj Kumar and Shashi Kapoor. Eminently listenable.

Guide “Wahan kaun hai Tera” and so many other songs, besides his superlative music , defined Dada Sachin Dev Burman. His music had a haunting quality which defied time. There won’t be another. Kris Kristofferson passed on 28 Sep 2024 at age 88. “ For the Good Times” “ Me and Bobby McGee” “Sunday Morning Coming Down”. Rest in Peace dear friend.

There are many Bengali songs rendered by S.D. Burman which are real treasures mostly released in Hindusthan Record and EMI label. Even CDs exist.
