Hi abhraneel

The only difference is the Lp of Aandhi has dialogues which lead you into the songs. The EP does not.

Abhraneel,

Angoor and Shaukeen must have been sounding heavenly. Namkeen comes thereafter. Doosri Seeta EP is now rare to get. Zehreela Insaan has two/three releases (different covers). Zehreela Insaan Lp is an album to cherish. Jurmana pressing (EP or LP) not so good.

@shaizada - good find! Is that the original RSD one or the new reissue?

RSD 2013 is around the corner :D I'll hopefully be in the states for it this time!

Nah man...it's the new reissue that Bella Union label picked up. For some reason, this pressing sounds better than all the other collaboration EPs did like Neon Indian, Prefuse 73, Yoko Ono band etc. (I got all the collaborations vinyl EPs, which was really hard to get for some reason). Also this Heady Fwends (Bella Union version) has Tasered and Maced which the RSD version didn't have. Get the Heady Nuggs box set as well if you haven't. That set is a must have.

Come by, we can go record shopping together if you'll be around for Record Store Day 2013. If you can't make it, let me know what you want. I can pick up some items for you if I come across them and the store allows double dipping etc.

One more thing, pick up Steven Wilson's The Raven That Refused To Sing. It is his masterpiece I feel. I got the vinyl and the Deluxe Box Set. The vinyl kicks butt!

Yes sourav, Namkeen, Shaukeen and Angoor (with dialogues) are really one of the better recordings of RD i have in LP...had to shell out 1k for the namkeen LP and 600 Rs. for the doosri seeta EP...Zehreela Insaan is also expensive as everyone looks for the "O Hansini" song...I second your opinion on the jurmana pressing...got the EP of Baharon Ke Sapne but it has lots of scratches; Bhoot Bangla EP came as an freebie....

cheers...

@shaizada - thanks for the heads up on the Steven Wilson LP. I ordered it from discogs as it was sold out of the Burning Shed site. Good thing I got it while it's still around, his LPs tend to sell out quick! I'll most likely be in NYC for RSD, so going to figure out the best store to be in for that. I'll be in LA though, will shoot you an email soon with the details! Can't wait to hit up Amoeba :D (both in LA and SF) :clapping::yahoo:

Bhoot Bangla EP as freebie???? U'r lucky then. This EP is also touching a height regarding the price point as like it's LP sibling. LP has now become rich collector's item. Some similar pieces are Garam Masala, Ehsaan, Puraskar, Pantera, Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Chandan Ka Palna, Dil Padosi Hain to name a few. Will come up with my comments ....

In today's world of limited dynamics, this album ought to be made mandatory and compulsory listening to all aspiring audio engineers.

PS: Ms Kyung Wha Chung is one mean violinist.

Sounds good! I'm probably starting up on a project soon and might be visiting Pune every other month!!! Just keep me posted...I need to make sure I'm here for Record Store Day.

That's not the only difference. My Aandhi EP is recorded at a slightly faster pitch which makes the singers sound different to say the least. I think this was done to fit in all the songs. But the songs are also slightly of shorter length than the original. Again, HMV is the culprit. That's the reason I bought an LP afterwards which is worth it for the dialogues and additional music.

Abhraneel,

Where did you buy these from ? I am also searching for the Namkeen & Shaukeen LP's since a long time. I have a near mint copy of Angoor. Could you please share your contact ? Thanks in advance.

Have an LP of Aandhi, It has a lot of Dialogues in addition to Title music (which isn't really that great). It is a really good LP, but I guess Aandhi in any format (Vinyl, cassette, CD or even MP3) will sound great.

Thanks
