Vinyl I am listening to...

WOW. Some really neat albums. What do you reckon of the Aussie pressings?

I've got the same U2 The Joshua Tree Lp :).

Could not tell any difference from the American pressings. They were very good. I thought the Sreaming Jets album was a classic, simply because this one is very rare. I've heard their signature track "Better" when I was in college, on Radio Australia back in the early 1990s. It was like a trip back in time listning to this one.

Joshua tree's "With or Without You" dominated the charts in 1987, I think, when I was in standard 9.

Cousins are leaving tomorrow, here's what we've planned for today evening. Leaving office a bit early as we have to go out for dinner after the listening session

Elton John Live in Australia (with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), double LP album which was recorded at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 1986 (again Aussie pressing)

Queen - Night at the Opera

How is the quality of your pressing? Mine sucks. And it was bought new. There is distortion from track 1 itself. I bought it only for Love of My Life. At least that is listenable.

Strangely, I have no luck with Queen records. All my other Queen records are also poor.

 I would have opted for a more painful option, how could someone do this to DSOTM or as a matter of fact, any LP.

FYI, in 2002 in Kolkata during Durga Puja festival, a huge pandal was decorated with pieces of LPs and EPs. They broke/cut into pieces around 30,000 records for this purpose. CRIMINALs......:mad:

Hi jls

Get the UK first pressings. They are very good. Have heard them. US pressings of Queen sucks. Dont bother with the new versions

I am not a critical listener but thought the pressing was very good (like the usual American pressings). No distortion whatsoever. Sounded quite neutral (its hard to tell as I played it using my M44-7), mid ranges were a bit pronounced but highs were not submerged at the same time, lovely imagery. Bass was quite tight. The guitar solo on Bohemian Rhapsody was simply outstanding, sounded like as though Brian May was standing in front of me. Personally, I don't own any Queen records, yet.

What a waste. Recently I saw some bowls and a clock on eBay made on old records. Blasphemy :annoyed:

Accquired a rare Reader's Digest special edition box set in absolutely pristine condition (don't think it was ever played). The title is "Pop Piano Favourites" and its an original vintage RCA Mono United States pressing (4 LP records). Played part-1, the piano performance was quite imposing. Tested my Technics Turntable's speed accuracy to the limit. Happy that it came out with flying colours.

I felt like blowing these people up: They had pasted scenery (s) cut from old calendars and pasted them on old 78s for making wall hangings:mad:

PS: These records were of my maternal Grandfather and the people involved in the crime were my maternal aunties :indifferent14:

Idea: They might still have the Gramophone!

Quite possible that the Gramophone may be used as "Vases":D

Playing few LPs from Jagajit & Chitra Singh after long time.

"A Milestone" : It Seems recording quality very good. Brand HMV
"The Latest Ghazals" from CBS

And one Qawwali LP from EEI brand, this also very nice mastering. I never see LP from "EEI". I am sharing the LP sleeve

Yesterday i got an LP of Hariyali Aur Raasta, it has my one of long time fav song " Ibtadaye ishq main" sung by Mukesh & lata.

Received this today:

Iron Maiden - Powerslave, Original UK 1984 pressing! As you can see its pretty dirty, but when i played it after cleaning..it sounded so AWESOME!

I already had a picture disc version of this classic but the sound wasn't that great.

This is very interesting, the logo and branding looks just like the Indian cartridge manafacturer, EEI. Wonder if this is their actual release.

"Indian cartridge manafacturer, EEI" also manufactured & published records with 'Inreco' label(same owner). But in this case the the logo is unique. Can we have some more info (if available) from the record itself?

You are absolutely correct Bhaskaran,
This record manufactured by "The Indian Record Manufactured Company LTD" (INRECO) for EEI. But this pressing looking like Gramophone records India. I am posting some LP pictures for more details.
