What if virus infected usb is plugged into LCD TV?

TV will have cold, cough or diarrhea for a week. Then the TV will be mad at user for sticking that USB with virus into it.

Hey that is Gobble's punch line. :) Did you steal it? :)

Cheers

I love his jokes. He is yet to show up here, so thought of trying to fill the void... :D

Damn you!! Jokeyright Infringement should be made an offense under the law :ohyeah:

Good to read something that made me laugh out loud!

More the Merrier

On a more serious note
On TV's with Internet capability do NOT ever surf your Bank A/C or personal email accounts on which you receive credit card and finance related emails or shop online using credit cards.

Most of the browsing clients in these TVs are written with poor security coding practices and there exist exploitable bugs and flaws that were discovered and fixed on Desktops years back.

my friend is huge electronics dealer and i atleast no 2 cases where sony Tv have malfunctioned due to virus infected pendrives and the whole software for the tv just went kaput. Sony did not do anything for that, as it hard to reload the software on it. cost a bomb.

SO YES it can happen....

Viruses will have no effect on any present day television........but in future if Television merges with your home computer then it will surely run on some OS (may be windows or linux etc..) and then virus may create some system crashes !!

I hope Sony is not using Windows as they OS.;)

We have been using computer monitors for years and there are no such incidents, at least to my knowledge, that a monitor had been damaged by a virus! And I hope same can be extended to tv's.

Darn. I am afraid now.

Only when I almost concluded that TV will not be harmed, donjuansid adds this scary post.

Are we going to discuss donjuansid's experience further or can we assume that incidents of harm caused by infected USBs to TV would be negligible enough?

My line of thought ...
