thats some pretty heavy heavy metal with iron maiden and ozzy. cant say i've heard nightwish though your descriptions sounds interesting. whats their music about

Nightwish is the Finnish pioneer of "symphonic metal with a female operatic lead", now glamorized by bands like Evanescence etc.

They are ok. I don't dig it much. I liked their cover of Floyd's "High Hopes", which was without the female lead. It can be seen on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkg88Mw5xJw

Hey, Ozzy's album is one of the normal ones, not that heavy really...I simply love the track "Shot in the Dark".

Nightwish features their former vocalist, Tarja, she quit recently..As mentioned above by echo, it can best be classified as Symphonic Heavy Metal with Operatic vocals though you'll have to listen to this amazing album to get the real feel...

downloaded a track or two from their website. not really my kind of music. a little too electronic. but their version of high hopes was nice.

Female vocals on Metal has never been my 'thing'
Though i love ANOUK
oh....she is awesome
HP

Female Vocals sometimes go very well with metal, especially, Goth & Black Metal...

You can check out bands like "The Sins of Thy Beloved" and "Theater of Tragedy", and you'll see the magic of Female vocalists..And Yes, there's always the growling vocals of Angela Gossow with "Arch Enemy" if the inclination is towards Death Metal...

An Evening with Herbie Hancock and Chick Correa. Can you aurally imagine these two guys (at their musical peak during 1978) playing together on TWO ACOUSTIC GRAND PIANOS....This evening actually occured in Boston in Feb 1978...Until you hear this double CD, you simply cannot believe that such complex sounds can be coaxed out of ACOUSTIC GRAND PIANOS. BTW, I was amazed to find out that this double CD costs US$78 on amazon.com.....
