Right now I am listening to ...

You are indeed in a minority group that likes this album. I purchased it as they used to and still one of my fav. bands but the mix is terrible on this album. I found it loud and thats about it. No dynamics of prevous recordings at all. I read somewhere that the band is blaming the portable audio players esp. the ipod for this issue!

hi,i picked this (death magnet) too ,,i too found this to be one of the worst recorded album ever by mettalica,,regret buying it!!!

Mmmm, one of my fav groups.
Is this well recorded full dynamics recording or a compressed ones?
The so called ABBA studio remasters are awful!

I have just given a first listen to the FLACs and thru my low end PC speakers. Will let u know more on the quality later.

This weekend I feel in groovy mood...so I see lots of wine with some spicy snacks, some beer to wash down the food and some good family time as the day progresses.

Starting things off with

Amazon.com: Eternal: The Isley Brothers: Music

I think they are one of the coolest groups (although with tons of issues) and very groooovy. My wife thinks Ron is corny because his lyrics says "to pull out the thang", "between the sheets" & "contagious" but whats groove without a li'l reference?

I may dip into some Stevie Wonder, James Brown and touch of Michael Jackson later today.

Kamal, Sony and a lot of other companies seem to be re-releasing a lot of these old numbers at reasonable prices. I saw a number of these CDs (such as ABBA, Boney M) at between 200 to 300 Rs.

For Chennaites, the Landmark in Inox has a huge collection of Jazz and other albums at 50% off. A visit is definitely worth it.

Cheers

ur right. i pik'd a few of these.

however, need to understand if there are any quality compromises, purely musically.

i remember a senior AP mentioning about the recently released Eagles CD (i believe it is a 2 CD set), available in two packagings, one indian and one imported, that the imported pressing sounds enormously better than the indian one, on even a basic hi-fi setup.

btw, re-listening to 'Sufi Gold' Times Music. one of the best compilations i have been listening to in recent times. simply haunting.

wondering how much better Begum Abida Parveen'd sound off vinyl!! three tracks from her on the CD!

again. need to understand on compilations. different recording variables that are compiled together. someone presumedly is doing the normalisation!! losses!?!

Brothers in Arms - Dire straits ( 5.1 DTS)

I have the XRCD (stereo) for this and it sounds good to me. How do you like the audio quality and also the multichannel effect on these numbers? Is it worth a listen over and above the XRCD that I possess (your personal advice)?
