50VT20 offers accross India (Hyderabad - 80k)

I forwarded it to you the same day I got the PM. Resent it again today. Check and give an alternate email address if you still dint get it.
Thank you, I received the bill on the alternate email id. Unfortunately, the Chroma store in Kailash Colony, Delhi is now refusing to honor even the old deal under which I myself had bought two TVs, let alone at a lower price. According to them, now they are not authorized to sell the TV for less than Rs. 80,000 and that too without any of the freebies. He also confirmed that they still have 'thirteen' 50VT20 TVs still in stock.

As I indicated, they have built a nexus to counter our efforts to bring the prices down for this group buy.

I still have that offer of 71.5k which can go down till about 70k with 1x glass and keyboard. I have asked them again to get additional glass if they can not reduce the price. These folks may want to be anonymous while we purchase through this group buy so may request confidentiality in transactions once I get the deal worked out.

If the offer is better here and if you are in hurry, we can look for a transit damage covered shipping from Bangalore. I request all to have faith and refrain from taking an impulsive decision. Most probably I am also in for this group buy especially for the 3 years warranty and Panel quality.

Started a group buy thread for more visibility:

I guess Croma sold more VT20s this season than dealers all over India could in the past one year! Got a great deal just before Diwali, and now I see they have gone hard on the price.

Hi Sanjay,

Yes, the store manager refused to match the Rohini deal even though I offered to pick up another 3 units. As for the earlier deal that was valid untill Dhanteras or end of stocks whichever is earlier.

I am in the market for a second tv but am now leaning towards either the Sony HX925 or the Sharp 830 both in 46".

That is because they have taken all the stock from Panasonic! We will get even better prices in the coming few days, just need to have some patience.

I believe 50VT20 should be a better deal than these 2 TVs. Just wait for few days and we will certainly get better than Diwali prices.

Hi ,
I am looking to buy one 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV . I am confused about VT20 and VT 20D nomenclature. Are these two different models ? Which one is better or more advanced and what are good price ( range ) ? I am in Ahmedabad , and I get price of Rs. 1.06 lac for 50VT 20 . I find here in the forum price range of 75 k for this model . I am confused and cannot make a buy decision.
Can you guys as owners of 50 VT20 , guide me and give me link to buy this tv at good price ?
Thanks

Do not buy the 50VT20D for a paisa more than 74000/- Last evening I was at a Panasonic Brand shop in Delhi, their owner has 2 brandshops and 2 private brand outlets and is possibly the largest distributor for Panasonic in North India after Croma. These guys are completely sold out on the VT20 series though they still have 20+ units of the 50V20 (@72000 LOL).

Anyhow while exploring the possibility of getting a 50VT20 the sales executive in-charge for plasma sales let it slip that in case I was fixated on the VT series it would be better to wait as they now have the 50VT30D listed as an in-line model and this should be coming in with an MRP of Rs.130~135K. He expected it to be on his demo wall by Jan if not earlier.

So if you have that budget and can wait for a month or thereabouts the 50VT30D should be the model to go for.

My second stop was at Croma across the road from the brand shop. Though the visit was to pick up a scratch guard for my phone I could not resist chatting up the plasma tv guy and a check revealed that they are sitting on a stock of 9 units of 50VT20D. The chappy also let out that they billed 8 of these panels a few days ago to someone who came in and bought all of them together for a 7% discount on the sticker price of 79,990/- He offered the same panel to me for a discount of 5% on the sticker price, no freebies though.

I wonder if it were a forum member who bought these panels or some other Joe / reseller-dealer.

Mate, having bought the VT20 for 75K IMHO the only way that anyone should shell out more then 100k for the next TV is to buy a 65" from panasonic in future ......which can also be for an year old model which they would want to clear stocks of.......dosen't make sense to me to pay their launch prices....

Guys...Just to get an Idea, What is the Latest and lowest price for 50VT20? I will be visiting few shops this week and will update accordingly.

You seems to have missed the thread:

They were sitting on 13 pieces stock post Diwali and only 4 (not 8) of our group buy members got it for 71k (its more than 11% discount and NOT 7%). They do get additional freebies of Killer Men's kit as the store could not offer additional glasses or discount.

So yes, all the TVs are going to our members (now from the group buy initiative) and I am actively working on getting the price to come down to 65k level.

I believe that Janakpuri Croma at Delhi was offering for 71k long time back. We may still get better price there.

Mate, I think with unused pieces going rare and demo pieces being available everywhere one should not try his/her luck too much for 1k or 2k....that is if anyone really wants to buy this set .... discounts will however be much more on display pieces.....god knows when...

Friends!!! Beware of the Croma guys.. I booked my VT20 from Croma South Ex. on 8th Jan 2012@ 72K with Logitech KB n 1 set of bowls from Treo... The set was delivered to me on 9th night at around 11pm... Before delievering the store manager called and said sorry as the box was a bit torn from one side.. He sent 2 stupid coffee mugs of very cheap quality as a Sorry gesture... When the box came, it looked like it was a repacked one and I was very sure that it was a used set... Also on opening the box, I didn't find the batteries for remote and the packing of 3d glasses looked shady too... It was pure bad luck on Croma's part as the set was damaged by the delivery guys while taking it out of their Van as the screen was cracked and the set had to be sent back, but I am 100% sure that it was not a fresh piece and they tried giving me a display piece... Now I have received a fresh piece yesterday which was installed today and I checked the usage counter which was at 00.00...
Be very sure of the usage while buying from Croma and tell them beforehand that you will be checking the usage hours as they are trying to dispose off the display pieces...

Mate, you can check with

1: Croma - Oberoi Mall , Goregaon East. ( they had some sealed pieces approx a month back when i had gone for demo of Onkyo 3400)
2. Croma, Bhyandar west ( one of our forum member from south has picked up recently from them)

Price should be in range of 70 to 73k without any freebies....

I am new to this community.

I checked with Croma at Bangalore today. They are offering 50VT20 for 70000. What to you think about the offer? It comes with one glass free. Sales manager says only 2 pieces left.

Is this very old model? Is it worth buying?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
