Aramex Shop & Ship - Get anything from US/UK Toooooo much cheaper than Borderlinx

I have never given any US address to PayPal.

I have added a Aramex US and UK addresses in my eBay account.

When I have to buy anything from eBay.com (US), before that I need to make my Aramex US address as my primary eBay address.

Similarly, When I have to buy anything from eBay.co.uk, before that I need to make my Aramex UK address as my primary eBay address.

At ebay.com and ebay.co.uk, my login id/password is same as of "ebay.in" (India), no need to create another id for other countries' eBay sites.

I recently bough a Galaxy S i897 Captivate from eBay.com, Paypal itself added my Aramex US address as one of my PayPal address.

In the past, I bought 2 phones from eBay UK with delivery address of Aramex UK but at that time, PayPal did not add my UK address as one of my addresses in PayPal profile.

As I have observed and noticed, the name in your PayPal account, eBay account, on your Credit Card and name in your Aramex US/UK address should be same.

so i creat an account in shop n ship with the coupon
now, when i buy from ebay, how do i get them to ship through shopnship?
i do not have a us/uk address.
i do have a friend in the us. what if i get stuff delivered there. how does my friend go about shipping it?

Can any one help me with the approx Shipping and customs (even though its difficult to predict before hand like Borderlinx) for the above items?

May be first I do just a trial run and get something like Thad did? Toothbrushes etc?

That points me to HDD, 2 TB which I need badly, but then I can always visit the Computer market here and get it one in person with Indian Bill and warranty and almost the same price.

Aramex is the worst courier I had ever dealt with. They havent yet delivered a consignment from mumbai to bangalore which was booked on 15th under "Overnight parcel". Its the VAN DAMME cables from UK thru` SYW. Following is the status. The reason for not delivering is "RAIN!!!" as per the CC. For the past 4 days bangalore aramex is keeping it because of rain and they are having holidays for next 3 days. So altogether 7 + 3 days.

@ barcode : Customs is calculated on the cost of the product including shipping at the rate of around 25% (for detailed rated you can refer to the Customs Tariff which is published every year). It is not over any threshold limit.

Guys, thanks for Aramex tip. Amazon->Aramex->Bangalore has become my favorite purchase method.

I am trying to buy from ebay US for the first time. Would it be possible for someone to answer a few questions:

1. When using Aramex/Borderlinx address, do you restrict yourself to items which ship worldwide or do you also bid on items which are listed as 'shipping to US' only.

2. Do you inform the seller before bidding that the items are meant for export?

3. When do you click the 'received item' button? When Aramex receives it or when you get it in India. I believe eBay pays the seller only after you have confirmed the receipt.

4. Has anyone bought anything expensive (I am looking for a $400 DSLR body) using Aramex? Any stories of experiences with customs?

I went through something like that too.

If I remember correctly...

Being (currently; it's expected to move) a couple of Km outside the Chennai Corporation boundary, formerly, I live in Kanchipuram. I can't imagine any other organisation using that city, because it is simply not my address for any purpose, formal or informal--- but, according to Aramex's database, it is.

Any chance anything like that applies to you?

No Thad....I live in secunderabad cantonment area.....but the area is filled with civilians like me with a national bank in our colony...we have railway station too in our area....and this aramex doesn't have my area
